Ok I did the on line paper work at TurboMedical for my 3rd class med, and got dinged on two item's

    1. Kidney Stone - In 1999 I have a kidney stone, I spent the night in a hospital, (my only hospital stay) given some pain killer's and the stone passed on it's own in a day or two. I did not catch the stone. So no follow up was done. I have not have any more, and I do not have the records from this event.

    2. Hay fever . . . .holy crap. NEVER been to a Doc for this. It takes the form of running nose, and maybe watery eyes. I self treat with OTC drugs or by staying in doors.

Given these facts and this much information will I have any problems here?

    Thanks

    I'm not a Doc but...

    Kidney stone:
Your records for a hospital stay are kept by the hospital's archive dept.
They'll maybe charge you a few bucks to get them.. maybe not. I got copies of my Y2001 procedures free.
Submit these with a letter from your Doctor, saying there is no current issue with kidney stones.

    You shouldn't have a problem.

    Hay Fever,
Not as long as you don't use antihistamines (they cause drowsiness).
Taking certain prescription and over-the-counter medications won't keep you out of the air, but here again, the FAA looks at drugs (and they consider everything right down to and including aspirin to be a drug) the same as it does everything else in the medical area: Will the medication stop you from passing a physical (this includes honestly answering the list of questions) and will it affect the safety of a flight?

FAA Regulations, as they pertain to this subject:

FAR 61.53 prohibits a person from acting as pilot in command or as a required pilot flight crew member while that person (1) "knows or has reason to know of any medical condition that would make the person unable to meet the requirements for the medical certificate necessary for the pilot operation"; or,
    (2) "Is taking medication or receiving other treatment for a medical condition that results in the person being unable to meet the requirements for the medical certificate necessary for the pilot operation."

FAR 91.17 states (a) No person may act or attempt to act as a pilot crewmember of a civil aircraft...

...(3) While using any drug that affects the person's faculties in any way contrary to safety...

    Just a suggestion.
Go to AOPA's board and post in medical matters.
Doc Bruce is an EXPERT and can/will give you all the info you need to help you.

Hospital is no longer there, Kind of the reason why I stated I don't have any records. Add to the fact that I'm in Boston, and the Hospital was in Houston, with it was open.

As for the AOPA forum, I posted there as well.

Just trying to add a little life here.

    Thanks
    Rudy
