my 6 years old Vizio went out. called Vizio and they were fairly helpfull. I did not have ext warranty, so called technician recommended by Vizio and they will come to the house and repair the TV for $215 flat rate. it is probably a voltage regulator. a 15 minutes repair if you know how to do it. I think it is a heck of a good deal, considering I can still keep the TV for a guest room or something (garage?....lol) then I felt it was time to upgrade anyways and went boughy a new Samsung 55" HD LED TV. wow. the image is astonishing, specially when you come out of 6 years old technology. cheers
Which Samsung did you buy? I was considering the F7100, but after reading far too many stories of various issues and horrendous customer service I threw it out of contending. I also then saw the Sony W900a and was wowed by the picture (and I'm coming for a plasma). Never thought I'd consider Sony but I'm pretty close to getting either the 55" w900a or 65" w850a (just came out). Going back out to look today. Again. In third is going plasma again and getting another Panasonic, probably the st60 as it seems to get just as many great reviews as my g25 did back in 2010. LG was also a contender until I read (and then saw) even the 240hz made football unwatchable. The ball wasn't even recognizable when thrown. It was amazing how bad it was.
