The previous owner wired the lights so that the running lights come on by moving the stalk down without the buckets up. The problem is that the headlights are also on but pointing to the ground. I don't even use this modification and am trying to reverse it.
When I turn the stalk to raise the buckets, the lights come on automatically, but I only get low beam in both positions with no blue high beam dash indicator.
However, with the buckets down and click the stalk downwards, I get low beam at the first click and high beam at the second click with the blue dash light turning on. (lighting up the ground)
I just need to reverse the current setup, being the low/high beams work perfectly only with the buckets down. Currently with the buckets up, I only get low beam. I'm hoping its just an easy reversal. But I just spent 3 hours tracing the problem and changing back the old wiring with no luck. Hopefully, I described the issue accurately.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I also just purchased Paul Bennet's colored wiring diagram which is a great help.

There is a mod that lets you just put on the parking lights without the headlights popping up. It involves rewiring the relay board and two diodes.

Here is the link, see post #11

Also the headlight switch does tend to malfunction when the metal stalks get loose in the plastic pivot end. Look for hairline cracks in the plastic pivot end and see if the shaft will wiggle or move.

    thanks for the link Joe.
I don't recall seeing any diodes behind the relay panel, but I'll dig a little deeper tomorrow and hopefully just reverse the entire procedure.
    cheers !
