Yep, apparently the brakes have had some work, hate to think what they were like before that. I just would not be confident driving a car with brakes like that (I have too many mouths to feed )
What you were saying re the late grab is,nt right they should be 'normal' progressive and quite strong,mine is now after having sponge to slow it down before.
Ok, well that car must have a brake issue, cuz nothing was happening until the pedal was almost to the floor. Didn't feel spongy at all, quite light actually and only felt some grab at last 10% of pedal depression????
Greg, the other 330 brake issue is that they have two vacuum boosters and the master cylinder is mounted remotely, under the floor, so there are many places where air can be trapped. I know GD spent a lot of time getting his brakes sorted, so it would be worth calling him.
This is correct chaps,thats why the bleeding is SO important. You/they really need someone au faite with them, to sort them properly.
having followed Ken B driving his 330 "briskly", I can vouch that his brakes seemed more than capable of dragging him down from 3 figure speeds, quite late into corners, again and again. (note: not metric speedo )
There must be an issue with the brakes,either air in the system,glazzed pads/discs. I've driven a lot of 50/60s cars,E-types with similar discs set up and there fine on the road and at speed,unless your doing 3 or 4 hard laps at a track or dozens of brakes stops on a short twisty road. Even the drum brake Bentley cars I've had I've never had fade driven at a brisk pace. I'd go for glaced pads.
