I am doing something a little different today. I am headed to TMS for a 20 lap driving school on the big speedway. I am looking forward to driving a NASCAR car on the speedway and feeling what it is like to drive on a track in this type of car. I was wondering if anyone else had done anything like this at TMS or any other track. The weather looks perfect and I hope it will be fun.

I know someone who has done it and they enjoyed it a lot.
    How was it?

I predict you had a blast, based on the 10 lap school I did there 3 years ago. The laps go by faster than you could imagine, right? Amazing you don't turn the wheel for the slight turns designed into the track to turn the cars.

Hope you got the video of your run. Congratulations!

It was a blast and I highly recommend the experience. I would also suggest doing the 20 lap event because Charles was right about the first ten laps going by so quick. I did get the in car video and it should be sent to me this week. I did max out the rev limiter a few times and I thought the car was going to shake apart until I let off the gas a little bit. The hardest thing for me was coming out of turn four heading to the start/finish line. I kept wanting to turn the car instead of letting the track do it for me. The instructors comment to me at the end was that I left a little room for improvement in my technique but I did not lack for speed. I have a greater respect for the NASCAR drivers and I am really looking forward to watching the race at TMS next month.

Congratulations!!! That is definitely a fun experience. I have driven 110 laps and they were all a great adventure. Team Texas also has a great discount on the prices through March. I recommend Team Texas to anyone that has even thought about wanting to drive a real NASCAR car at TMS. On the 80 lap drive, once to get to about 60 laps, they let you take the corners as fast as you want to. You also get to do side by side and a drafting maneuver. Super fun a fairly high speeds.

Team Texas at TMS has a Father's Day special on sale now.

10 lap driving school for $214.50. That is 50% off the regular price.

This is a really good deal, it is usually about $30-$40 per lap.

It is fast and fun, especially if you like NASCAR stuff.

I am not related to them.
