    Speaking of wrapping…
I just had Fabspeed cats wrapped by Advanced Thermal (https://atpwrap.com). $1050 for the pair, look amazing. Swapping them in this weekend.

I wrapped the headers with DEI titanium last year when I installed them. It’s still in good shape, but will have then done next belt change.

Very nice work! I assume custom? Is ATPwrap local to you?
Have you spoken to them about doing F430 header wraps, Fabspeed or otherwise? Any quote for that work?

Sorry for the questions, a full alloy form-fitted heat shield like that is really the best possible solution...

They’re down in Irvine/SoCal. Dropped them off, picked up a week later. They priced the cats out with a pic alongside a tape measure, not sure how much they’d charge for headers. Not inexpensive but they did a great job.

Got them installed. Temperature difference after a drive between headers and cats is surprising.

    Headers (DEI “titanium” wrap): 470F/233C
    Cats (ATP): 155F/68C

Those are fantastic! I haven't seen DEI style header wrap on real race cars in 25 years. These form fitting, OEM style molded heat shields like you have are what all professional race teams use. Yes, they are expensive but if your goal is heat management and protecting wires from the heat of thin wall headers, what you posted is your best option.

Could just be internet old wive's tales, but I always stumbled upon people talking about how it is bad to wrap cats as it causes the element to break down faster. I wonder if there is any truth to that.

Went back and forth on that.

It’s made a significant difference with ambient temps. Perhaps worst case it shorten’s the life of the cats over time. But possibly protects more expensive (and difficult to source) bits.

I've actually thought about even wrapping my factory cats that are already wrapped from the factory. Double wrap. LOL
