When I woke up this morning the first thing I saw was 5:12 on the cable box, yep I have made the right decision. So after 6 months of really intense looking, I found a car. I almost said I'm done after quite a few misses (their is a person looking at it, if they don't take it, you are next in line) and some cars which just could not even make the cut, and several PPis.

Taking stewardship from a fellow Fchatter(AHudson; Adams Hudson) and I'm sure many know him and his passion for cars and the philosophy of being a steward for a car. The car will arrive Monday and I'm hopeful it will be a great day for a nice long drive.

Thanks. It had been a car I have coveted for many, many, many years. Screwed up on the Dino hunt 14 years ago and was hoping not to repeat history . . .not getting one.

I will post a couple pics when she is back on Long Island.

Wow. Did not see that coming!

Congrats to you DWhite. I must say I feel just a bit sad not having Adams as a fellow owner anymore :(

Some very nice cars have been cared for by adams since we have all known him on this site.

Thanks Robbie. It is a good one!

Oh, I'm seriously dangerous right now. Don't leave your car unlocked; I may take a test drive! Looking at some other Fcars and an R8 for daily duties. We just moved about 45 minutes from work (to a lake) so I'll be doing a little commuting. This intense 'moving' weekend is why I was so late in responding! I felt like Newman, except he moves every 3 weeks whether he needs to or not.

Thank you Peter! I'll still be using up my visitation rights! I am hunting around for something interesting now. Will not be leaving the Boxer/TR forum anytime soon, but now as a wannabe!

Fun pictures! BTW the dude in the first photo with hands in pockets is my cousin who is also a car nut. He saw my car going into a truck and thought there was a high-level heist going on!

David, AT LEAST half of this transaction's value was dealing with such a kind person. (Purchasers take note.) You made this transition easier. Hope you'll stay in touch on your stewardship with 51179. Congratulations and welcome to a fantastic fraternity!

Aw, thanks people. Made me feel good to read that. I so enjoy this hobby and the folks in it, even the occasional losers who keep it interesting.

I think this Boxer was ready for a change of scenery, and I'm in the hunt for something different as well. The hunt is about half the fun!

So, after a one day delay, it's here. Of course, it's snowing on Long Island, so no chance of even giving it a run around the parking lot. I could not meet it when it arrived, but the person who took it off the truck said it runs fantastic. Hopefully will get it out to my storage place by the end-of-the-week.

Couple pics when i went to see it. She's tucked between two jealous Germans. Well, maybe the Bug.

Oh, it's the grass is greener syndrome! Why does it look better as someone else's car?!?!

The German car is pissed that it is a competent but frumpy efficiency index where the Italian car is just sex with 12 cylinders. It too has greener grass syndrome.

You may want to get your hands on that box o' goods in the passenger footwell. May not look like much, but it is semi irreplaceable. (DinoPlex, original Fuse Block, other bits.)

Have fun with that ride David!

It's the same with food. Why does a sandwich made by someone else always taste better than the exact same one you make for yourself. I don't know, but it is one of those crazy mysteries which never gets explained.

The box is safe and sound.
