What do you like to do?

    Dim Sum in Chinatown:
Hei La Moon is the best and least touristy, but China Pearl has that 500 seat dim sum mecca thing going for it. Go on Thu or Fri to beat the crowds.

(I have yet to see the movie, but some scenes from "The Departed" were just filmed on the same street as China Pearl, but they really doctored it up.)

    North End dinner:
This is a common destination for tourists and locals. I'd suggest Giacomo's. It's a crowded, stand-in-line-outside, cash only, italian seafood restaurant. The lobster ravioli in giacomo sauce, grilled fish, and the specials are generally good choices. Butternut squash ravioli should be on the menu now too. If it's busy, you'll be rushed. If that's not your style, let me know.

For dessert, head over to Caffe Vittoria. It's a bit touristy and there are better places for cannoli, but the place is huge, interesting, and the cannoli and gelato are decent.

Paul Revere's house and the old north church are close by.

    Fenway Park

Starting at Fenway you could walk much of the city:
    Fenway-> Comm ave -> Newbury st. -> Public Gardens -> -> Charles St./Beacon Hill -> Boston Common -> Downtown Crossing -> Gov't center -> Quincy market -> North End

There is a BodyWorlds exhibit on at the Museum of Science not far from MIT. I saw the original show in Munich a few years back, it was very cool.

As others suggested, walk across Boston Common, have a snack at Faneuil Hall, cannoli from Mike's Pastry in the North End (only a 10 min walk from downtown).

You can come to Harvard on the West side of Cambridge and see what you're missing out on by trying to go to MIT. ;)

You're really lucky visiting right now - today is going to be great. I remember I visited the week before Christmas and it was 38F and raining.

38F pah, that's warm. Wait till Late Jan and the single digits :)

However I'll take the cold and blue days every time over England with the monotony in winter of:
    1. go to work its dark (till 8:45am)
    2. go home its dark (from about 4pm)
    3. during the day its grey and you don't see the sun.

Boston has great seasons. It would be perfect apart from February. That's why I take a holiday somewhere warm then.

    Wow!! Today was beautiful!

Im staying here off of Summit in Brookline and this morning we headed to Harvard in for the 10am show and tour, and well i wasnt impressed at all. I dont know, I respect the school, but it wasnt my type. The tour person didnt even know a lot, and couldnt answer a lot of questions. But its a great school, but not my type.

We went to MIT next and Wow!!! I really liked the school as my top choice, well now, I am in love with it in seeing it in person. The campus is so unique mixing in modern and historical. I reallly hope i get in, its such a great place and boston is as well.

Hehh...Tomorrow they say its going to rain, whats one of the best things to do in the rain?
