Car is all loaded and I'm on my way to play in the Rockies for a while. Hope the weather clears up out there! ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Weather around Denver has been dreary this past week. Only a slight improvement expected next week. Hopefully sunny skies after that.
0% chance Mon thru Wed here. Then 20% till the weekend. Local papers in Aspen are blaming El Nino. We have already had 2x the rain in May than last year for the whole month. Expecting a wet and cloudy summer. Ugh. Only time i drive the 458 is when the sun is shining and i can put the top down. We get 300+ days of sunshine a year. I'll keep my fingers crossed The rivers and creeks are raging and full now. Fishing sucks. Best
Sitting in Nebraska dodging tornados right now. Been out here every may for probably the last 5 years and the weather was great. The first time i bring my car....
Where at? Hopefully the weather clears and you can get to Colorado without any trouble. Enjoy Nebraska
Spent the night near kearny, ne. Planning on continuing on to my friend's house near golden layer this morning. No rush considering it's still snowing there. Weather forecast at least looks better starting tomorrow. I'll try to get some photos along the way, but sprint doesn't exactly have the greatest cell service out here so not site i can upload much.
Car arrived in one piece. I'm thinking this afternoon heading up coal creek canyon into nederland then back down 119 (boulder canyon drive). Anyone know if road 132 (magnolia road) out of nederland is a good paved road? If anyone wants to join me let me know. Mike
Had a blast today. I'm insanely jealous of those fortunate enough to live out here. Not the best picture, but here's one near Nederland. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A few years ago i was driving the Fcar in Boulder Canyon and the water was so high the bridges going to homes across the creek were destroyed. The Creek was almost out of its banks. I imagine the Creek was pretty full foy you. In Summer it's fun to go through Rocky Mountain National Park over Trail Ridge Road. The drop off is thousands of feet straight down. Am sure there is too much snow now.. Have fun.
Thanks guys. Did lookout mountain early this morning, came down through evergreen and bear creek canyon. When i get home I'll edit and post some videos if anyone is interested. Mike - I'll have my car here until Monday morning when I'll be loading it back on the trailer. I'll probably bike ride that day then head home in the evening. It's hard for me to schedule a specific time since I'm juggling the weather with biking and driving. I'll have a better plan maybe by tomorrow evening.
Was able to upload a few drives to YouTube. Can't edit them until i get home. If anyone is interested, here's a link to a run to nederland. 8:45 to 12:45 is the only interesting part. The rest is kinda boring to watch i suppose. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IO60Ln32_zM
Are you around this weekend? So far, the weather is looking pretty nice. Might be worth one more drive up into the hills. -F
Fun times! The car sounds great! Gotta love the Colorado canyons. I live in Conifer so I know those roads well. Always a fun drive.
I'm around until Monday morning. I'm going to try and get one more short ride in Sunday morning, but it depends on the weather. I'm also trying to get some biking in, but it's tough when every afternoon is raining! I was biking today and got caught in a bad storm near mt. Falcon. The stuff came in fast!
