I've noticed that my right pop up headlight on my '91 TR sits slightly lower than the left one (when closed). Is there a way to adjust that?

It is possible that the bell crank arm on the motor is not clocked right.
The arm needs to point straight at the mounting point of the adjustable rod at the headlight assy. If the rod/bellcrank combined are bent like the knee in a leg that is a problem.

Another way to tell is to watch the headlight assy when raising and lowering. If it dips down slightly before going up or goes up slightly before going down, that is the problem.

Also the adjustable rod length in concert with the up stop and down stop screws can be adjusted to correct.

I'm sure that I'll need the down stop screw. How do I access that screw?

The stop screws only provide a stabilizing force that prevent vibration of the light assy in it's up or down position. They do not determine the up or down position, that is a function of the motor linkage.

You will need to adjust those AFTER the other required adjustment(s) are finished.

All 3 stop screws as well as the linkage can be seen by opening the trunk lid and using a flashlight look around the edges of the assy with it in the closed position. There is some access to the stop screws but almost none to the linkage until the surrounding panels are removed.

Good evening Olivier!!! the last show I was at with 88564, I noticed some other TR's had that issue with the right side headlight not sitting as flush with the hood as the left side. After asking some other TR owners about this, I arrived at the conclusion that it was a common quirk with TR's. Que sera sera.

Take your TR out at night, and turn on the headlights :) ... The upgraded HIDs I had TECHNIK1 install are great!!!! Much easier on the eyes than the pale yellow OE lights. And the lenses are also better at focusing the light. And they've also got 3M stoneguard for protection on.

Gus and Angelo @ TECHNIK1 are the best!!!!

The headlights are great!! Got to use a lot on my way down from Long Island.. Drove through the night :D.
If I can't find a easy solution I'll just leave it the way it is... but I'd bet that there's an easy solution for it. I'm pretty technical and can do lots of things myself.. I actually do all the work on my '68 Race Vette. (I change engines, transmissions, rear ends, do all my tuning etc. etc.). Before I sold my C5 Corvette Convertible, I actually rebuilt the pop up headlight assembly..
If I can do all those things, I see no reason why I wouldn't be able to adjust the headlight assembly. If I can't do it myself, I'll leave it the way it is.. Nobody except me has noticed it anyway...
