Alrighty then.

My Westinghouse headlight burned out a low beam.

No sweat, I'll get a new one, I think.

OOPS, hard to find, and $60 and up.

Wagners can be had for $3.99 at Pep Boys.

Does anyone know if it matters what type of headlight you have, as long as it is true to the original form, and not a halogen in a US car? Is a Wagner ok at concours on my US spec Dino? I recall a post here about this somewhere, but I don't remember their being any agreement as to what's ok.

I know I'm getting anal about this, and I wish I could stop but...

I guess that's what being obsessed is all about. :D

I have a Euro spec early Dino for which Carello lights were correct. I am not sure what US spec Dinos used. Best of luck.

Agree w/ Keith/4Redno. Also have an early L-series that came w/ Carello lights. I saved these, since they're amazingly expensive and hard to find, but changed them out for halogens, which actually give enough light to drive at night with, as opposed to the OEM Carellos.

Us spec cars came with sealed beams, not halogens.

Talked to a judge this AM, thinks going with Wagners is fine, unless at a national concours, where a judge might get fussy.

However, since it's a wear item, and no longer available, just like tires, he felt a good sealed beam replacement would work fine.

For safety, you'd think they'd OK the use of halogens.

     FALSE ALARM!!!

Turned out to be a wiring problem in the fuse box, and now all is well.

Does anyone need a nice set of period correct Wagners??

I replaced my sealed beams with H-4 halogens. No problems whatsoever, AND there is a lot more light. I'll check the brand and get back to you, but I think it was Hella.

Tony- Sorry for the delay; the halogens I have in the car are Wagners. Don't know if there was any electrical modifs needed, though I doubt it- it was all done at the same time as a ton of other work on the car 3 yrs ago.

And, to make the car look close to concours correct, you can get Wagner sealed beam halogens. Better light, without looking incorrect.

I got some at Algar for a very reasonable $20+- each.

I actually have two spare sets of bulbs for a Dino right now if anyone is interested. I'll get them on FerrariAds in a day or so.
