headlights go up/down, no parking lights, signal out...

So my headlights go up then down, or one side goes up then down. It doesn't stay up for very long, maybe 2-3 seconds. I've read a little about cleaning the switch, changing relays, but is there anything else I should do or check? Help me drive the car at night!

First thing to do when the eyeballs don't snap up together is reverse the left and right headlight lift relays. If the symptoms reverse sides, replace all 3 relays. (there is a master relay as well). If symptoms don't change sides, your problem is in the lift pod. The contacts get dirty and diodes go bad. There is a very small possibility that the connector near the pod has a bad connector. But hope for a relay fix which is the cheapest and fastest and most likely.
