    Hello everybody,
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions (or experience) with a persistent problem: my headlights are stuck on the "parking lights" circuit, which doesn't include side markers, instrument panel, and license plate lights. When I turn on the lights it sometimes flips back and forth between the parking circuit and the normal full headlight circuit (corresponding to another green light, in the upper left column, on the instrument panel). Now it seems stuck on the parking light circuit.

Also: does anyone have a pdf of the relevant electrical diagram for the US spec 3.2 (mine is an '87 coupe). I would like to locate the relevant ground connections.

    Many thanks!

Thank you for the kind offer, but I believe the diagrams are different. I could be wrong, however.

I had a problem with the circuit board such that the exterior and dash lights wouldn't turn on, and the parking light signal would illuminate. . When I turned on the lights, the parking lights would illuminate instead of the running lights at the rear, but none of the side markers or dash lights would work. The problem was a burned track within the layers of the pc (fuse) board. I was able to jumper over it, but if you are considering replacing the fuse panel that may fix it.

If this is what is happening to you, I can share the marked up wiring diagrams I have. I also have a full wiring diagram that I can share. I have a US market '87 Cabriolet. and I believe the manual is mostly accurate. It often notes that Swiss cars are different, so I suspect that there is only one manual.

Those diagrams would be terrific, if it's not too much trouble. The wiring of our cars are basically identical, apart from cab specific circuits. I believe that the European spec (or, more accurately, default ROW spec) cars have different diagrams. The Swiss cars might be anomalous, and closer to the US (though I'm not sure). But US spec if what I need.
Also, do you remember which pins you jumped over on the fuse board? I am hoping it's not the board, but it probably is (even though mine was replaced by the PO with an oem Ferrari unit). Eventually I will have to spring for a good aftermarket unit.
    Thanks again!

I sent a message. I don't do it often, so please let me know if it worked.

User "afterburner" has complete very nicely done and clarified color coded documents of the wiring for our cars.

Do you still have the original laminated fuse board? Even though I had an upgraded GT parts fuse board, my panel lights and parking lights and even sometimes my headligts we're giving me problems. So I took the box out, cleaned it, sprayed it with Deoxit, installed all new fuses and relays which I've done about every three or four years since I've owned the car and it seems to cure a lot of problems. You can also check for burnt traces on the white connectors on the fuse board when you take it out and look at everything.

Update: I did a continuity check between the fuse and terminal J3, which checked out, so the track in the fuseboard is good. Then I checked if power was going to the fuse (#17, if I remember correctly) when the lights were on, and there was. And then, after I reinserted the fuse and turned on the lights again to check whether power was coming out of the J3 plug, the proper lights came on -- the problem had corrected itself! Maybe just reinserting the fuse did it. Or maybe the problem is biding its time, ready to return at an inconvenient time.

One of the previous owners replaced the fuseboard with an oem Ferrari unit. I wish he had gone aftermarket. In any case the fuseboard isn't in bad shape -- see my update above. If simply pulling out and reinserting the relevant fuse solved the problem (still not sure it did), then it confirms the wisdom of your practice of periodically cleaning and replacing fuses and relays (although i understand that one shouldn't spray the original Ferrari fuseboards with Deoxit).
