Headphones

Hey guys, looking to buy some new headphones for a flight to Europe next month. I tried out the Bose QuietComfort 15's, which were awesome, but the price is not something that I can justify.

Any decent over the ear headphones for under $100?

I found the Sony MDR-NC60 refurbished for $80, but am unable to try them out before buying them, anyone have any experience with these?

 

Do the headphones have to be noise canceling? I have the Sony MDR-XB500 headphones and they sound great and when I would fly they took down most of the noise and when there's music playing through them even more noise from the plane was "knocked out".

 

Not necessarily, although it would be nice. I looked at those headphones, but was concerned that the focus of them was too much on bass...

 

I thought they were going to be really "bassy" too but in all honesty they only have a lot of bass if you listen to hip hop with the bass booster on your eq settings turned up... other than that all the ranges come through pretty clear might be lacking in the highs a little bit but not a lot.

 

Anyone else?

 

QC 15's are worth the money. You won't be disappointed.

 

I have some sennheisers, the only thing I don't like about them is the thin cable they used. Just feels cheap. The rest is great.
