Headrest removal help

I need to remove the headrest from a (year unknown) US F430 Daytona Seat. Power recline/lumbar, manual headrest adjustment. A little wiggle and pull of the chrome posts has always released them for me before, this one moves freely up and down in it's normal adjustment range, but will not come "off" and locks at the highest standard height adjustment. Does anyone have any good tricks or know the "proper" procedure for releasing it and removing it from the seat back?
