Yours may be different, but here at least Speed is showing "To Be Announced" at the Monaco GP timeslot. You might want to check your DVR to make sure your recording is still scheduled.

Interesting - actual race time wasn't showing up as anything but TBA during practice this a.m., but, I was just able to properly set mine for the GP.

Yep. And for a rare Friday morning I was home and would have been able to watch practice when it was supposed to be broadcast at 8am EST, but SPEED substituted some truck shows. Way to go SPEED! Grrrrrr....

Unless it was going to be a rerun, you missed it already. "Friday" practice in Monaco is always held on Thursday. Was broadcast at 8:00 AM yesterday.

Crap. Thanks for the heads up. I'm at work so nothing I can do about it now, but hopefully it catches the Qualies. Qualies are today and race tomorrow (Sat), correct?

Also...will there be any FOX broadcasting this year? Want to make sure the DVR is setup for those races.

    No sir!....

    All times Pacific;

    P3, 02:00 Saturday (05:00 Eastern)
    Quali: 05:00 Saturday (08:00 Eastern)
    Race: 05:00 Sunday (08:00 Eastern)

Incidentally, there's a handy little calendar on the official F1 website that displays all session times, optionally in your local time.

    Cheers,
    Ian
EDIT: PS, I don't think any of 'em are on Fox this season.

Thanks Ian! For some reason I thought they didn't allow racing on Sundays at Monaco, hence the Thurs practice and everything was moved up a day. But I guess not!

Thanks again for the clarification. Lets hope it'll be a good race.

My understanding is the Friday "quiet day" is to allow the locals to escape before the weekend! (?) But the "standard procedure" applies for P3 thru' the race.

+1 on a good race - It should at least be an interesting procession ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Monaco is 6 weeks after Easter. Rest of season's races are scheduled around that.

my dvr (directv) is and has always been scheduled to record. the episode titles aren't correct for this race which is why I know this, as I had to verify that all the sessions were set to record. (the titles for the various sessions were all the same, as opposed to "practice", "qualify", "race" as is normal. -- i had to verify that the DVR didn't think they were all the same episode and only record one of them!)

as long as we're on the subject (kind of), i have to say that even if it's not 1080p full HD, i am very happy with the speedtv broadcast of F1. It's at least DVD quality which is good enough. When they show the slo-mo shots is absolutely amazing. My receiver says the broadcast is at 720p but of course that doesn't mean the source material is 720p.

I especially liked the slo-mo of Schumacher in FP2 going through one of the turns and making adjustments on the steering wheel controls mid-corner. What Varsha failed to note was that Schumy blew the corner before (killing the run through the entire complex) so he was going slow through the corner where he was making adjustments -- ie he wasn't at full tilt and probably could afford to mess with the controls. Still, the shot was very very cool and the image resolution left me with nothing to complain about.

My understanding as well, since everythings pretty much shut down throughout the weekend.

It will certainly be interesting with all of the mobile chicanes this year. Takes me back to the turbo days with the speed difference between the turbos and the naturally aspirated backmarkers...

    Frank

It will still be a procession and come down to your ability to carve your way through traffic.

My DVR picked up thurs, sat, and sun okay -- as of the current schedule.
(It updates a bit after 3AM daily (programmable.))

I wonder if the corner marshals have been pumping iron to prepare for a long day of waiving blue flags. ;)
