Have a friend with a Masters in Health Adminstration. Useless. He's a consultant for a company that does IT projects for Health Management Organizations. Same as his coworkers, who have Bachelors only. Does the same work. Makes the same money. Regrets wasting his time pursuing it. I forget which school he went to, but I will find out and post it tomorrow.

Personally, I think it's up to the individual and what they make of it. See if you can get some info on what kind of jobs you can get with it that you wouldn't get without it. Then see what the salary surveys show about those jobs. Also might be worth talking to people in the field, though they might give you a skewed perspective.

This is what I could find really quick, but the salary seems to be fairly consistent to what I have been seeing.

A student who earns a Master's Degree in Health Care Administration can have a salary that varies depending on the size and location of the healthcare facility or medical office. According to the website, Salary.comm, www.salary.com, an executive in a hospital or medical office can earn up to $172,011. Normally the starting salary for someone with a degree in this field is somewhere in the middle around $88,451 year.

Considered it myself, but I have to work another few years in the medical field before I can apply for the program at my alma mater: UT Dallas School of Management.

When Obama goes goes to the national health care plan you'll be a Fed. employee. Big money there.
