    Love that first rule

There’s but one simple rule for Ferrari, Aston Martin or Porsche owners looking for a little attention: never park near an Iso Grifo. Iso Grifos possess some intoxicating mix of strength and beauty that possesses otherwise sane people to run through four lanes of traffic to stare a car whose name they can’t pronounce. We watched a guy do just this at a recent auction and when we asked which car among the staggering offerings was his favorite he said “I’m not really in to cars. Just wanted to look at this up close. Cool.” At that particular moment the Iso Grifo was parked next to an Aluminum 300SL, a long hood Porsche 911S and stood but a stone’s throw from a Lamborghini Miura SV. Cool indeed. This particular 1969 Iso Grifo GL 365 is listed in Germany by a seller we presume is tired of having the cars in the background diminished by the staggeringly beautiful metallic blue coupe. As a series one car this Grifo displays the quad headlamp look that was later abandoned in favor of 1970s de rigueur pop-up headlights. The chrome trim and bodywork appears to be in fantastic condition and we love this car’s blue over blue leather color combination and Campagnolo center lock wheels. In a sparse description the seller indicates that the car has enjoyed a full restoration, which added several modifications including a 6-speed transmission, Porsche front brakes, air conditioning, aluminum cylinder heads and an oil cooler. The original 5.4 liter Chevrolet V8 remains, as do most of the original surfaces in the interior. Thankfully, most original components removed from the car have been retained with the exception of the important—but not deal breaking—original transmission. Whether the next owner chooses to enjoy it as-is or return the Iso Grifo to original condition the coupe appears ready to break the hearts of random pedestrians and Tifosi alike. Find the Iso Grifo for sale here on eBay in Munich Germany with a Buy-It-Now price of $238,000.

Wow, and an eye-opening price! I remember during the 80s and early 90s nobody wanted them and it showed by their values.

    I can see why :)

Back then many were worn out and some looked pretty ratty, but most are restored to high levels these days showing their true beauty.
