I noticed there is a thread about a Road Couse Club near KC and thought I would mention Heartland Park is opening their road course to the puplic.
    The text:
Topeka, KAN. (April 11, 2005) For several years Heartland Park Topeka has opened the drag strip to bring street legal race cars off public roads to a safer, controlled environment. Beginning this week Heartland Park is opening the road course up for street legal cars on selected Wednesday evenings throughout the race season.

Heartland Park Topeka will kick off its first Driven Performance Equipment Wednesday Road Warriors Series event this Wednesday, April 13. The Road Warriors Series will be a controlled lapping event that allows street legal cars to experience 1.8-miles on a section of the Heartland Park Topeka road course.

The Driven Performance Equipment Wednesday Road Warriors Series will run the second Wednesday of every month, April to September, beginning at 5 p.m. and running until dusk. The weekly schedule may be cut short or run long dependant upon weather conditions and available daylight.

The cost for participants at Driven Performance Equipment Wednesday Road Warriors events is $35, and spectators will be admitted for $15.

This event is open to all street licensed drivers over 18 years of age, and all street licensed cars. No full-blown race cars will be allowed to participate, and proof of insurance is required for cars to take part in the Wednesday lapping sessions. All novice or amateur participants will be paired with an experienced instructor, and will have the instructor along for the ride as they learn the intricacies of the road course.

For more information contact the HPT offices at (785) 862-4781 or (800) 43-RACES.

Heartland Park Topeka, a multi-purpose racing facility located in Topeka, Kan. annually hosts NHRA POWERade drag racing, Championship OFF-Road Racing (CORR), and the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) in addition to many other events throughout the race season.

I'm planning on being there more or less everyday that weekend. Been looking forward to it since the fall. I think it's just (used lightly) the 10th-12th though.
