While getting ready to fix my Clutch Slave Cylinder on my '85 QV Coupe, I was wondering if anyone had fabricated a heat shield for the unit. Or similarly, could you wrap it in dynamat or other heat deflecting material. Why is this a bad idea? :)

Perhaps a heat shield on the slave would obstruct the airflow cooling the whole area? I have thought of putting a heat sleeve on the slave hose, but some say that can obscure a leak which presents easily on visual inspection.
