I could have sworn someone posted about something they stuck on the back of their engine panels to protect them and the components behind them from the heat. I tried searching for it here but came up with nothing.

When I put the transmitter for my wireless reverse camera in, I'd like to put some heat shielding on the back of the panel where the transmitter will be.

If anyone has a recommendation for something that just sticks to the back of the panel that would be awesome. If you have pics, even better.

    Thanks,
    Cheers,
    Corey

I remember that thread as I had interest in it as well since I knew I was getting LED lights

    This one?

At that point, I looked on Amazon and found options

    I'm looking at this one

Aluminum Backed Aluminized Self Adhesive 12'' X 48’',Fiberglass Thermal Insulation Reflective Material High Temp Protection (12 x 48 Inch) https://a.co/d/4KaYOrj

This thread has tips on adhesives

It's self sticking but I expect that will only last so long

It wasn't those threads, I distinctly remember it was about carbon panels not painted fiberglass ones. My concern with the aluminum-backed stuff is that the aluminum would actually be pointed on the wrong side, so the fiberglass part wouldn't be as efficient since it won't really reflect the heat. I'll keep that Amazon link as a fallback.

I used the DEI branded gold foil stuff to place under the intake manifold of my Jeep which sits right above the heads. Been sticking real well for quite some time. Not sure how the off brand ones hold up.

Corey, I know you're not looking for the aluminum version, but DEI is a good brand that might have other solutions that could work: https://www.designengineering.com/

    you're probably thinking of Randy's 360/CS build.

He's put that adhesive aluminum backed heatshield on everything. I didn't go with putting them behind the engine panels for the same reason you mentioned above. The aluminum is facing the wrong way.

Plus, if you have carbon panels, it doesn't conduct and transmit heat all that well so having those are already a help over the metal panels.

True, I was planning to create a cover for the lights where the aluminum does face the heat, for your setup, makes sense that wouldn't work
