    Hi Everyone,

I like everything looking like new so I wanted to rebuild degrading heat shields. Also, I have high flow AP headers, Top Speed sport cars, and s-line x pipes so there may be more heat getting into the engine bay. I do have header and cat blankets but I’ll be inconel wrapping it all. The whole system is carbon ceramic coated inside and out already too.

I’ll probably add some heat reflective tape on the bottom of main airbox, and extend the titanium heat shield to cover the backs of the tow carbon fiber airboxes.

I added heat reflective wrapping around some of the fluid lines too and added a layer of heat resistant wiring loom to the f1 sensor wire and the aft gearbox sensor wire.

This is likely overkill but I figure it’s a 21 year old car, aftermarket exhaust (reminder: stock headers and cats are known to fail and cause catastrophic issues), and this is prep for going on a 2000 mile road trip with it.

My remaining thought: is the ambient heat between the heat shield and actuator more than the gearbox fluid and therefore the heat reflective tape on the actuator further helps? Or, is the tape holding heat in? I’ve asked an Indy car mechanic who said it’s likely helping. Any other thoughts?

Yes this is great. Nice work. That almost looks like Basalt cloth which is also a great option for a heat barrier. But what you have done here is much neater cleaner work
