I did all the searches I could think of, but I can't find this info here... Forgive me if I'm staring right at the answer...

Jut finished changing all the belts - and the A/C clutch - and I'm ready to get back on the road... Just remembered I had one more item on my list: flush/refill the cooling system. But not only that, I also had the kit on hand (from another Fchat member) to install petcocks in the engine block and the front heater hose to make this job easier.

As I was reading up on the petcock kit, I saw that it was originally set up for 308/328's but that it was also usable for Mondials. One user reported that he thought his heater hose must have been bigger than those on the 308/328, because he had to "sleeve' the petcock* to make the heater hose of his Mondial fit on the kit's heater hose petcock...

Can anybody quote me the inside and outside diameters of the heater hose (underneath the front of the car - where it splits off of the main line) on an '88 Cabriolet? I jut want to have all the parts/adapters/fittings, etc., on hand to complete the job before I start cutting any hoses...

Also, I always thought that a sleeve for a hose was something you put on the outside of the hose - like stainless steel mesh, etc., but this Fchat member sounded like it was something he put on the brass petcock to increase the size so that the Mondial's larger heater hose would fit better on the brass petcock... I could be wrong about that - it was just how I read it....

I've reached out to the Fchat member who posted about doing this to his Mondial, but he has been an infrequent poster of late, and I haven' heard back... Can anyone explain this process and what tools/materials I would need...? I have a general idea of what is involved, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to....

    Thank you!

    Dave

    * Boy... If I had a nickel for every time I had to "sleeve the ol' petcock", IYKWIMAITTYD.......
