Trying to find a 328 heater valve, mine left side is frozen, they are not available, checked most places out here, Italian Car Parts is trying to locate one for me. , I know an outfit that can get mine rebuilt, but I want to find a used one that works before I send mine out , then I will have one for when the right side fails. Any of you fellows have some input , would be appreciated.

    Thank you

How did you go? My LHS valve is leaking coolant from the shaft so my mechanic bypassed it until we find a replacement. The one on eurospares looks different to mine.

Good luck. My passenger side one on my 89 was leaking so I bought the last one on the planet (it seems like) from a Ferrari parts vendor. It also leaked when I installed it. Ugh. I have now bypassed it with a brass manual valve. Any idea on the rebuild cost and reliability of a rebuilt one?

I had to have my fuse board re built because of electrical issues, once it was put back into my car, the valve started to work, so it was not frozen in the first place, I got lucky on this one .I hope you can find one . You might want to try Ferr Parts in Sacramento, Ive had good luck sourcing new and used parts. Sometimes the factory will actually have new old parts that come up, even after they claim are unavailable, this was the case when I finally found a pair of front shocks for my 89 .

Thats pretty normal. Ferrari actually have nothing to do with parts for older cars. When a model is 2 or 3 models back Ferrari turns the entire parts distribution and manufacturing over to Maranello Classics in England. If something runs out it becomes NLA until or if MC decides to get more made. Since it was bought out by Roger Penske they have become more concerned about ROI and less on supporting Ferrari owners. If you order a part for a 328 it goes from your dealer to FNA to Ferrari SpA to Maranello Classics and back the same way.

Contact O.D.D. Parts in Sonoma California. They rebuild and repair a lot of stuff like that.

I ordered 2 heater valves at the webshop of GTO Engineering in the UK. Payed and waiting for delivery.
Today received an email from them that the valve delivered by their supplier is not correct and they send it back. There is no other option for the moment.
    So back to square 1.....
This is the valve send by their supplier =

I think to put a normal valve moved by hand will be the only option.

I did order those valves like on the picture in #8 in China for a little price, just in case.....seems that its opens and closes the other way than the OEM valve.
Therefore I opened the original to find out if it is repairable ....with a saw....

I did find the little seal to replace that original...it was leaking a drop sometimes....and even the valve completely closed, heat was coming trough it. Also
I did find out that the little round knob on top of this axle has to be pressed in to the grey lever and it was not...when dismanteling it came loose directly.
And it can not be pressed in place when it is intact ! The only way is to open it....

To make sure those 2 parts stay together I put a very, very smal screw inside that grey lever.

The 2 parts I glued together with 2 component glue that cures in a few minits and can survive 120 degrees C.
Will let you know the results after re-installing it.

I have found a lot of emission parts by just googling the generic part name. I know Ferrari uses a lot of generic parts of that nature from BMW, SAAB, and Fiat. Also just looking around I found Alfa 105 spider heater valves that could possibly be adapted. Water in and out were good but cable lever needs to be removed and a square drive made up and finding a way to mount.

1st I'd do is find some US equivalent of Ricambi or Rutlands for Fiat parts and send some pictures. I hate to believe Ferrari had those specially made.

Take off cable lever and fab some kind of small square drive then find way to mount to existing mounting bracket

I installed that repaired OEM valve back in place and it is looking ok for the moment. Working like it should and no leaks so far.....valve closes and hot water is not passing. Valve open and heat water is passing trough.
I believe a lot of 328 owners have no clue this valve is not working like it should. The production of this valve was already problematic....once valve is formed with that axle inside, its almost impossible to press the lever so that it clicks in place. That axle is pushed inwards and there is no way to keep it in place so the lever clicks in place.
