Although I have not posted here in some time, my heart goes out to those in the Carolinas and beyond. I have not seen this kind of devestation here since Hugo. I was hoping to hear from some of our people in these areas. How are you and what do you need? Our thoughts and prayers are with you, but so are our concerns.

Yeah,it’s hell..lots of towns and whole communities are,well,gone..washed away.
Helos landing on college grounds taking the students down to Charlotte so a foster family can give them a room space until their families can come get them..it’s that bad.
My grandson got away from Boone down 421..which I heard was closed..but he made it to Raleigh..and his parents feel lucky..blessed was their word..
They can’t stay in Boone long..no power,no gas,no food, even no water, that school,21,000 App State, students is closed,.when it’s opens I’ll try to advise..
    The death toll will rise…

We have friends in Beech Mountain and Etewah (sp?) whose phones aren’t being answered. Does anybody know the situation there? Thanks.

I have a cousin in North Carolina, she and her family are okay, but I just sent her a text to ask what could be done to help from her perspective, I don't have a helicopter, and I don't fly fixed Wing anymore, but I do have resources.

Hey Adrian. We are doing ok. No power or internet at the house but no damage. The shop has power and we offered it up for anyone wanting to charge stuff or get water. Had a damn run on 223 & 556 and 12g, but can only take cash. Only way to the web is via cell phones. I did have fun getting the kids to eat MREs tonight!

If you want to send something a bottle of Scotch would help! ;)

Thanks for the update! I see a 12 year old Glenfiddich with an MRE in your future!

One heart warming effect of this devastating storm has been the number of (not close) friends who have called or texted us to make certain we are ok. People just don't realize how W I D E North Carolina is. We have been able to make some contributions and donation through a charity we support. Those people need help. I heard today from a friend who lives in Clay County (ant that is nowhere believe me) that 500 souls are still unaccounted for.
