Hello, 355 questions

Hey guys I'm starting to shop around for F355s (6 speed, I like the feeling of shifting) and I was just going to ask on average how much is the maintinence of your cars annually?
Right now I have a heavilly modded Nissan 350Z with a widebody kit
(1ft wider), custom interior, custom wheels, fully adjustable suspension, and will push out about 600rwhp after the new motor(RB26DETT, Skyline GTR) goes in/is tuned. I only give you that information to show you that I am serious about modifying my cars and would appreciate it if you all can give me some options about raising the performance of the F355. Suspension upgrades if there are any would be appreciated as well.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2249016 is a link to the car before it was painted and or had the wheels put on. I painted it a light/metal flake blue off of a custom painted Lambo. I put a carbon fiber hood(painted all but the gills), CF GT style mirrors, and I don't know if I will put a low or mid mount wing out back just because of the whole ricer image. It might not mean much to some of the Ferrari folks but the car will be featured in Super Street (largest import tuner magazine in the US) and atleast have an article in two others. It takes deep pockets to get any car to the level of customization that my 350Z is at. I have the Z for high hp and car shows now. When I purchase the F355, I will likely have wheels/tires, and a full exhaust system waiting at a shop to install. The point will not be for high hp, but just having a bit of customization, as well as letting the nice sounds that emanate from a Ferrari ring out a little more. I am sure that the suspension is set-up very well, as it should be since it is a Ferrari, but I like a harsh suspension set-up as I would not expect the F355 to have. I used to own an '89 911 which I had set-up for racing on the weekends, until it's engine bought the farm. My friend has an F430 and it handles like a dream, but just not as I am accustomed to or prefer. Also, I read in Modified Luxury and Exotics that Novitec Rosso has a Twin Turbo kit for the F355 that puts the 0 to 60 time a 2.3 seconds.

 

I don't need to showcase my car on any forums as my car will be showcased to a national audience. I am interested in upgrading the suspension and upping the HP output of the 355, but atleast at first, not to the level of my 600whp Z. Notice how I said that the point will not be for HIGH HP because I was talking about an exhaust system which anyone who has ever modded a car would know does not raise a car's hp very much. In my original post I was looking for options for exhausts other than Tubi, as well as ECU mods, intake/air box mods, and any other suggestions that anyone might have that would raise the performance level of the 355.

 

I did search but there is always new information and new products. I was just looking for some clear information/opinions/reviews. Gothspeed, why would you tell me to stick with my 350Z? The Z is done. If you don't like or respect the idea of modding a 350Z or other Jap car that is fine, and I say to each his own, but to knock me just for asking about modding a 355 is IMO wrong. I am not going to make the F355 a show car or anything like what I did with the 350Z, but just improve it's track worthiness so that when I upgrade from the F355 I can have a good track car. I just feel like your response was pretty much saying that I was not ready to have an F355 or worthy of a quality response from you.

1. Just looking for new information better information. I should have included information that I already know to show that I was not just asking questions that I could answer myself.

2. How was I talking about my greatness?
b. I only mentioned my non F-car to show that I was not a newb to mods and the second time that I mentioned the Z was because another member asked to see pics.

3. I am not expected a red carpet. I merely stated that I had one because another member asked if I was on here to show off my Z to Ferrari owners. (why would I do that?)

4. I agree with all of your points here which is why I came to this site looking for quality, well informed answers.

5. I have read about Ferrari which is why I am looking for one. I think that Ferraris are the classiest of the exotics and I also have a great deal of respect for the racing heritage that Ferrari has.

6. I don't expect anyone to hand me a thing but atleast have semi-polite, well informed responses.

I am not consulting anyone. Just looking for ways to make it suit me more. Modifications available have nothing to do with my decision to purchase an F355. I love the car and am set on buying one, but I always mod my cars and bikes(yes, jap bikes) so I wanted to know what the best avaiblable products, upsides and downsides of them all, as well as what you all think of them.

Seriously man I was not bragging about my "ricer". If it's every few years then it is no biggy to me but if it's every year then it would matter. I will call over to the Ferrari dealer tomorrow and check on how much they charge for a major service/engine removal. I imagine that it will be more than a few major services before the tab eclipses what I dropped to make the "ricer" is what it is. Thank you for the information. I hope that you two are just sick of non F-car owners coming in with dreams and asking some dumb*ss questions and you all thought/think I am just another one of those individuals. I provided the prior info on my car as proof that I have a passion for cars and the bank roll(yes jap car do cost a lot to mod and no you can't pay the people in rice) to afford an F-car so you wouldn't treat my questions the way that you did. Instead, you took it as me bragging about my "ricer" which I would have to be extremely sophomoric to do on a Ferrari forum. Don't take this the wrong way but you guys have to lighten up. Enjoy the fact that you have a Ferrari and share your knowledge about them. Once again, thanks for basically answering the questions.

 

Yes I am and that is one reason why I have ruled out the F1 that I was originally considering. If all I was about was HP or how fast it can go in a straight line or anything like that I would have stuck with my Z or gone to a Porsche Turbo. I always admired Ferraris because of their history and elegant styling, so after riding/driving my friend's F430 I knew that a Ferrari is what I wanted. I will probably purchase one over the winter or beginning of spring as I don't want to buy the first one I see. Have a nice day.

 

lol yea I just wish I could afford the F430. Right now I am looking at the spiders because I might be moving to TX, but even if I don't move to TX, I would still like to drop the top now and then.
