    Hey Guys,

I just wanted to introduce myself as I have just found your site. My name is Brad, I am 35 and live in Virginia Beach. I have always admired Ferraris since I was a kid watching Magnum PI and I am just now finally easing into the Maranello water. I have had Vipers and Corvettes in the past but nothing has salty as a Ferrari.

My wife and I joined the Ferrari Club of America last week and went up to the Ferrari Club North America annual event in Northern Virginia the last few days which was cool. I also joined your board as I think the membership of a site with so much information should support it.

A friend of mine just recently took delivery of his new F430 coupe from Ferrari of Washington which pushed me over the edge. I visited Ferrari of Washington this morning and got the tour of the facility and looked at some of the cars. The salesmen (Augie) was very cool and laid back and knew several of my friends who had bought cars from him and the dealership so I really do believe they will take care of me and establish a long term multi car relationship.

Anyway I look forward to trying to be a beneficial member of your community and learing allot. I am trying to decide between a used late model 360 Spyder in Rosso with Tan or a F430. I am leaning towards the 360 as I really like the lines and drop top experience of the Spyder. I may consider a F430 Spyder as well but for a first Ferrari I am thinking it might make more sense to ease in with the 360 and move up in a few years.

I am sure I will have lots of questions and I will try to be respectful and always search the archieves before I ask.

    Thanks for having me...

    Brad King

ps: I collect and play vintage guitars hence the screen name.

Welcome Brad--always good to have another guitar fan on board! Enjoy FC, and when you get time head over to OT and talk about your guitars.

    Good to virtually meet you.

Given the serious premium on F430 Spiders at the moment, a 360 Spider is probably a wiser move, unless money is no object.

Ciao and welcome on the site. it is nice to see someone caring enough to fill his profile and introduce himself: does not happen so often.
As far as guitars are concerned, speak to wolfgang: he is the master of exotic guitars! :)

That's ironic... I am in VA Beach visiting right now (and addicted enough to be logging on here). Home tomorrow, hopefully early enough to go out for a drive. Probably see you around at a gathering the future!

Welcome Brad. I've been an axe man for about 21 years (My collection of guitars is now down to 4). What kind of guitars float your boat?

I used to own a vintage guitar shop so I have a few :). I am into most guitara pre-1965. Currently I have about 80 or so guitars. Mostly Les Pauls, Strats and Teles with the odd Martin thrown in for good mesure. Highlights are a original clean 1964 Stratocaster, 1958 Gibson les Paul Goldtop, 1951 Fender Telecaster. I am into Hendrix style sounds...

I was told I could get a F430 Spyder for around $275K and a late model very low milage 360 Spyder for $200K. I am not sure if I should pop the extra $75K (If in fact I can get one for $275K) for the F430 upgrade.

I am NOT a money is no object guy ;-).

I think someone here is looking to sell his 430 (spider I think) pre-delivery for around $250k. It is posted in the 360/430 section. I am told there is a really nice red/tan 01 spider with about 4,000 miles in south florida for $135k (euro model). If I were in the market, that is the car I would buy. And Welcome!

At the $250K that BT mentioned it seems saner than at the $300K+ prices I've seen on dealer sites. Great cars, though, can't go too far wrong.

Welcome to the forum! It's always great to have (legitimate) new members who are passionate about these little red cars... Classic guitar collection seems like a cool hobby - and probably a safe investment, as well!

I don't know much about 'em, but my dad has a 1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Black w/ gold hardware) that he bought new... I used to tinker around on it when I was a kid, but that thing was *heavy!* He's still got it, and it just spends its time in a case in his office...

At any rate, take care, and wecome (again)!

Sweet! My dream guitar is any late 60's strat, sunburst finish with a maple neck, contour head and a top side tremolo ala SRV/Hendrix.

    Welcome Brad!

I know someone who wants to sell its 360 Spider F1, 2004 model, 11800 miles, red exterior, black interior: $140k. The car is located on an exotic island in Mediteranean Sea - Europe.

I could help you to make the deal if you are interested - free of charge, as a complimentary welcome on FerrariChat.

I don't have a Ferrari yet, but my opinion is if you want to buy your first Ferrari ever, you won't feel a big difference when you drive a 2004 F360 or a 2005 F430. If you accept this very very small difference between these two models, you win $275 - $140= $135; with this $135, as an extra option, you could make a leasing for a new F430 Spider. You will have two cars. After one year you could sell the F360 with at least $120k.

I think the 360 will be me at least for now. I will get a 2004 or newer is Rosso/Corsa with Tan interior, F1, Power Daytona seats, Shieds, red calipers, black top, under 2K miles. That is the exact ride I am looking for and I am not worried about waiting till I find the perfect car instead of comprimising. Thanks again for all the well wishes.
