Looks good!
Daniel- Very nice, and the first I have seen with gold wheels like the competition cars of old. Taz Terry Phillips
The late Biturbo Maseratis were absolutely fabulous. I love the Ghiblis and the Quattroporte Evoluzione with the 3.2 V8. I really think they will become collectibles in the near future.
I like the red and gold effect too... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Barry- Great photos. I had a Daytona and lusted after a 512M, especially the Kirk White 512M, in an earlier life. Red Ferraris and gold wheels are a competition tradition. Not sure when it started, but I remember the F1 3 liter V12s with gold wheels in the 60s. The good old days. Taz Terry Phillips
Terry, Gold wheels on competition Ferraris were used from the mid-60s to the mid-70s. Here's the Ferrari 312. I have a set of track wheels in gold for my 1976 GTB to salute that era. Nice 308, Barry ! Seems that I'm not as alone as i thought with my taste. Great pics of the other cars also. The last formula 1 is fantastic. Daniel
Bob- Makes perfect sense. German for telephone was originally Fernsprecher, which means distance or far speaker. Taz Terry Phillips
Here in Germany we have some differnt words for spacer (singular) Spurverbreiterung - Spur + Verbreiterung = track gauge + enlargement or Distanzscheibe - Distanz + Scheibe = Distance + disc/plate or Spurplatte - Spur + Platte = track gauge + plate/sheet i think it's not easy to translate some technical words into another language. Fernsprecher was the word for telephone back in the 70's and in the Bundeswehr (the german army). Nobody says Fernsprecher. We say Telefon and Handy (mobilphone) Daniel
Beautiful car Daniel! Sounds like you picked out a special one, and the previous owner made a nice vehicle even nicer as well. Love the gold rims, looks very competition-like. Enjoy your new 550 in the best of health! Chris
i thought of that after my post but wasn't sure. could be something different. didn't check your country, congrats on the beautiful car!
Martin, I took that picture of the 512M at Classic Coach two years ago. Barry Here's another view: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I could tell the difference in handling, seating and feel of the road. nobody can understand until they drive a 550. enjoy your future drives.
Mitchell- That goes for all the Maranellos. No wonder Phil Hill said the Maranello was his favorite Ferrari street car. Taz Terry Phillips
Wow, your car looks great! I love the gold wheels! Can you tell us the serial number? I was gonna say heaven, but I guess Classic Coach is close enough.
GRUESS DICH DANIEL ABER EMMENTALER? DER STINK KAESE? NA JA, IST EINE GESCHMACKS SACHE. Nice biturbo, got any pics of the 550 yet?
Hi five40iguy Emmentaler doesn't smell, you mean another cheese. Pics are on the 2nd side of this thread, better pics will follow, these pics were taken in the evening and the car wasn't cleaned. Daniel
