Just wanted to say hi to everyone on the forum. I've been a lurker mainly because I don't have much to add. But you have all helped me out greatly with your questions and answers. Thank you.

I'm coming from the Porsche and Mercedes forums and picked up my first Fcar today. It's a challenge stradale with 6k miles, radio, and fire sans stripe. It's in mint condition.

Besides the day I married my wonderful wife (just in case she sees this post), today was the best day of my life. I've been wanting a Ferrari since I can remember to dream.

Welcome to the CS club from another CS first time Ferrari owner. It may not be the fastest thing out there but its so...so much....more than that. I'm sure you'll love yours as much as I love mine. Where did you pick yours up?

congratulations! one of the finest products maranello has ever put out.

i dont know you or your driving ability at all, so dont take this as an affront etc.....but i would highly recommend driving this car gently until you have figured it out. it has ferocious power, and not as many driver aids as the cars you are coming from, or even other ferrari products of that time. if it has standard tires on now, it will not be too safe in the rain; if it has track tires on, then even worse.

also, as a warning, ferrari ownership comes with caveats - you will experience admiration and joy, and you will also experience hate and jealousy. be prepared and act accordingly.

A CS is an amazing entry into Ferrari; it was also my 1st Ferrari before the scud and I still miss it on occasion. Only regret I have is not being able to make videos of some of my very fun drives :( So, get a GoPro & welcome!

I would not mind getting back into a black on black CS as a scud stablemate, so if any of you fellas spot one for sale, let me know! Not because I'm bias to Ferrari or anything but there is nothing I lust for in the 250k and under range...my only other dream car is a Zonda 760 / Cinque which is obviously in another stratosphere in terms of affordability :)

Thanks for the advice on taking it easy. My heart goes out to those involved in the CS accident around Carlsbad. I thought about it yesterday when I drove by the exit where the accident happened.

Ross...you are correct, my driving skills are well below the limits of the CS and will take care when I drive it. My 993 spent most of it's life in the garage. For 2013, my resolution is to take the CS out for a ride along the coast more often.

I'm thinking about getting a skid plate for the front bumper. But i'll do some searching on this forum on skid plates before deciding to do it. I'm not sure about anyone else, but when my front bumper scrapes the road, it feels like fingernails screeching along a blackboard.

Looking forward to great discussions about our mutual passion!

Great first Ferrari! You're doing it right!!! More pics including interior shots are always encouraged and welcomed. Looks like a really clean example.

Yes, I am with you on scratches under the nose. My car was mint when I picked it up and it now has two scratches where I failed to negotiate a couple of inclines but I have pretty much learned what I can and can't do. I'm sure it will happen again, and I will cringe when it happens, but I'm trying to get over scratches and dings and just drive the snot out of it as often as possible!

    Welcome to the club!
