Robb you are a trouble maker who sits on the sidelines and pretends to be civil. That being said, I really like your cat posts. The car shows a salvage auction record. Autocheck uses the term synonymously with salvage. Look at the date on that entry and compare it to the report if you don't believe me. Go ahead, add it to your little salvage thread that you really created for this car. It isn't a salvage car tho you guys lack basic reading comprehension which prevents you from seeing that. Get your facts straight. James, If you want to paraphrase all the alleged misrepresentations do it in a consise fashion so I can rebut line by line. But do quote me directly please. The thread is too long at this point. Thanks!!!!
I will consider it but not sure anyone cares at this point? Nor do I care to debate facts with someone continually attempting to defy logic.
Guido, you must do the labor yourself and get off the chair for the seats to be fixed at an economical cost. They have zero odor the carpets are great and the leather is now soft and supple. Sorry I don't pay the dealer, its because of people like you that scare away potential owners. $4000 just screams stupidity.
Andrew loves you guys as long as you go along with the sham. But anyone talks a little truth......look out, the arrogant Andrew comes to life with stuff like.. "Go ahead, add it to your little salvage thread" and "You guys lack basic reading comprehension." The good thing is that he has done more damage to the flog ability of this car by coming on here with all his gobbledigook. But I give him an 8.5(gee where did that come from?) for effort.
James, The only defying I have done is Minimal damage to my wallet because the car turned out great. I dont care what old photos look like.
The leather should be soft after soaking in salt water for days the oil is easily absorbed by all the cracks. Oh sure you can stitch it with a needle and black thread but all the leather in that car is done like dinner. But you think thats an 8.5....laughable. I wonder how much longer the seals in the tranny will hold and if any water is in there. That rust you call in the front carpet wasn't a broken cooling line as you call it but more than like dirty sea water and or rust from the tool kit that sat under water for days maybe weeks. Sure keep flogging this dead horse and I don't wish you good luck selling it because some poor bloke is going to be out lots of cash Andrew.
Haha whatever you say pal. It would be one thing if you all had first hand knowledge of what you post about, or if you saw the car in person now since no body likes old news or photos especially in the car world. The f355 cleaned up great sorry to disappoint you all.
Will you post a picture of the VIN and the corresponding title? There's no 102602 in the 355 registry. I think that if you did that, you'd address everyone's concerns about the car and it's history.
The car turned out great if you are Stevie Wonder and even he will feel the cracked leather and the smell of must when you open the doors. Keep it up Andrew....nobody here is going to buy your wears. BTW....I will buy the rear window if its not broken.
Guido there is zero rust on the trunk floor not a spot. The coolant stained the carpet from loose clamps like every other 355. Plus if you know about hurricane sandy the surge lasted much less than days. Clearly the car wasn't in much water there is no evidence come see for yourself instead of telling me how well you know everything. Tranny fluid has no water all fluids were changed with no water evidence per PO. I drained and verified all is well.
Really? Ive worked on many and own 2 and they never leaked. Coolant dosnt leave a brown stain. Rust does and yes I know you washed it out. There is not one 355 owner out there that would say this car is anywhere near being an 8.5 unless they are trying to flog it and many in here know better. BTW Im not talking about the dealer. Dave Rocks is having his redone by a very reputable coachman and yes they are 4gs and up to be redone properly. The sponsor of this thread, (Braden) reupholsters seats...shoot them a line on pricing.
I owned two and both leaked bad and wet the luggage carpet the same way. I would love to agree with you but the trunk floor is spotless not even a pin head of rust. Just accept that the car isn't for you and move on we get it. Or come drive it and report back to the forums about the misconceptions. Lol
GTS. This is Bob from Little Silver nj. Look at where Little silver is on google maps. I live 100 yards from the water. I have friends and neighbors who had cars totalled in Sandy. Quite a few of them. It was a 20 minute tidal surge that swamped these cars from below with salt water. Depending on where the car was in the flood plain, thè water was up to 11 feet above mean high tide. There is no reason for a prior owner to mention Sandy if there was no involvement. Simple A prior owner of your car stated that it was caught in sandy and that no insurance claim was filed. Most likely he didn't carry a policy. I saw this car and there were many indications that the car had been damaged in Sandy. There are things that after three weeks you still haven't disclosed that I am aware of that are indicative of an event of some sort. If you are the owner. If your name is on the title then it doesn't really matter. She's your baby. The history of this car is well documented for the next owner if and when you or the current owner look for a buyer.
This thread started as a progress snapshot of me working on the car. Several indivduals made the vin number the topic of conversation. I will not be posting photos of my car title and vin for your entertainment, it is an atypical request on a public forum that I refuse to participate in. Come buy my car and sure you can see it, but its not for sale right now oooops!!!
No reason not to unless you're hiding something. I've got the VINs of each of the 355s I've owned in my public profile.
Hey Bob Good to see ya yes I am familiar with little silver it is beautiful. I believe the car was in milstone but I have no way of confirming, in a previous post you wrote the following: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143571999-post45.html "This was a tidal flood event. Their was minimal rain associated with Sandy and the damage came as a result of surging tides (11 feet above mean high tide marks) and wind. Any cars that were totalled as a result of sandy were flooded from below with salt or at best, brackish water. The tidal event lasted about 20 minutes. So these cars were flooded with salt water for about 20 minutes. How high the water got in the car depends on where their car was parked in relation to the tidal height in that spot." How did your opinion change so drastically? Please PM me regarding other issues with the car because I honestly haven't had anything crop up but it will be interesting to compare our inspections.
His account of Sandy is nearly identical in both posts and yet you accuse him of a drastic change of opinion? How is that logical? As for the vin, only reason to hide it is because it doesn't match the car, which is consistent with the way it was advertised and the reports showing salvage history.
Drastically? I said the exact same thing in both posts. What are you talking about. That car was listed at an address in a Millstone but there is absolutely no reason for a seller to mention sandy unless the car was impacted by sandy and he was being forthcoming. It does nothing for him but hurt the sale. I can't possibly imagine why he would say that if it wasn't a fact. GTS. I'll post a pic of my title with name and address on it. When you do the same we can have full disclosure. You are still posting in stealth mode and if you care, it isn't helping your cred.
You are wrong on both counts but its the internet so it doesn't matter. Bob actually drove the car so I am interested in any comments from him which is why I asked for a PM. No one is denying a sandy event for the car . but this car was not dunked submerged roof deep like you all make it out to be ☺ Vin is correct/consistent with paperwork another fact . You are all missing an important piece of the Vin data . no one can figure it out and it explains the whole reason for the alleged discrepancy. Someone should post it !!!! Thanks .
Im not contesting sandy at all Bob. Just saying millstone was more inland than little silver I think? My friends lost cars too,a close friend rescued his simba after sandy. Sandy was not all salt water (you specified brackish in the old post ). Its all speculation regardless ....
No, I have reading problems I don't know the definition. I'll stop trolling its getting tiring . see you all at the SALVAGE thread,
