    Hi everybody,

I don't know if it's appropriate to open a new thread, if not, I shall be punished with a FWD car the next time I need a new ride.

Okay. My name is Florian, I'm 21 and an engineering student from Germany. I've been lurking around here for some months and, well, you've all been a big help for me. I had some very very very very hard tests in March - you all know the famous "German Engineering" thing, our education here is indeed very tough, I'm studying electrical engineering which is the toughest of the engineering subjects, and the tests I had some weeks ago are considered the toughest ones of the whole studies. I've learned weeks and months for these tests, haven't seen much of the world outside my room, and there were a lot of moments when I just thought "stop that [censored]! NOW!".
Every time I had these feelings I switched on my computer and logged onto FChat. I browsed through all the "Let's see..." threads, I read about the half-crazy-half-genious technical solutions in the cars from Maranello, I admired Napolis' P4/5 , I marveled at LVErics amazing collection, I gazed at the beautiful houses and garages you have, and I established that if Pap348 got a Dollar for every pic of his 348 he posted here, he'd be able to buy ALL of the Ferraris in this forum and would still have enough money to let them have washed by ten thousand naked topmodels licking the dirt off with their tongues :D
So after all these 15-minute-fchat-sessions I had when I was at the edge of going to the university and shouting four-letter-words at my professors, I thought "all these guys that these beautiful cars have worked damn hard for them, so don't complain and sit down and LEARN!".
And it worked! I got my results today. 80-90% of my colleagues failed, and my results were in the range of 2.7-3.0, where 1 is the best and 5 (=failed) the worst. Doesn't sound very impressive, but I was among the best 10% of those who passed the tests. One of the reasons I've been so good is YOU, and all I can say for that is: THANK YOU!!!!

Unfortunately, I can't give you much back. But I was at the Hockenheimring yesterday, where (according to the booklet) the biggest oldtimer meeting of the world took place. There were hundreds of old racing cars, from little Mini Coopers over roaring Cobras up to thundering CanAm McLarens and screaming turbo F1 cars, and about thousand 'normal' vintage and exotic cars, it was amazing. My camera is crap, I'm a crappy photographer, but maybe you'll like the pictures I took, you can find them here:

And if anyone of you ever comes to the Frankfurt region in Germany, drop me a line. I'll be happy to invite you to a glass of the second-best beer in the world (according to the world brewer's association :D) and to give you some advice and hints for the most beautiful roads around here and where to go really fast on the Autobahn. I have no Ferrari to offer, but if you like a ride in my '76 Toyota Celica (yes, the mustang clone), you're welcome :D

With another thank you and a "Forza Ferrari!", wishing you all the very best,

    Flo
