Just a quick hello to the Toronto Group: I have just moved (temporarily-One year work contract) to the area and have brought my 360 up with me for fun. I am currently living down in the Yonge and Bloor area of Toronto and work up in Markham and would like to get together and meet some of the local owners/chat members. Let me know who is interested. Brian Willis
Welcome Brian. Im off to Europe soon so perhaps we can meet up with a few f-chatters in August. Maybe Mosport

Hey Brian, are you a member of the FCA? There is a wine tour this week-end. Leaving from Toronto and heading out to Niagara. Always a fun run.
Hey, could you please provide me with the details of this? Welcome to T dot, man. Perhaps we could set up an afternoon, supper cruise sort of thing?
Welcome to our fine city. Did plans for a get together at either Centre Point Mall, (Yonge & Steeles) or somewhere else fizzle out? Thought this was coming up in just a few days.
Hi welcome to Toronto. Maybe we could have a gathering at my house in the next few weekends? Bathurst & Sheppard so kind of central to many of the locals. Gerrit
Brian, I live up in Markham, close to your work, and yonge and bloor is close by. We can definetely get a few of the guys together. As for the 23rd at Centrepoint Mall.....Im still in...what time ?
Found it. Thanks. A few levels above my social strata, I fear. Could someone please re-iterate the details relative to the 23rd? Not sure I can make it, but I'd like to try. TIA
enjoy the city, you're in the prime spot to see other (and many) amazing cars.... if you guys do some sort of local "meet", i'd love to join.....in my busted ass civic...
Hi Jamie Can you clarify what you mean? There are all kinds of social strata represented in the FCA toronto region.
Wine and cheese isn't my cup of tea either, it's more about the drive. Gerrit where have you been? Missed you at the track.
I went on the cheese tour last year (maybe even the year before)..It was O.k..but during lunch..I ordered a beer. The wine tasting thing I could have done with out..but the drive was quite fun..so for that it was worth it. I'm like you..just a regular joe whom has no interest in the snobbery aspect of the Ferrari thing. And to me..wine tasting has a bit of the snob ring to it..Its ok to enjoy a nice glass of wine..but i don't need to swoosh it, hold it up to the light and sniff the cork and pretend I know what I'm looking for. If I like the taste its good..if its bad..in the trash it goes..no matter what it cost.
Hi Jamie I didn't mean to imply that you offended, it is just that I find the particular group from FCA Toronto who attend the events are not generally snobby. Some are wealthy, some are working class with all in between also represented. They seem to attend for the same reason as Tom, to enjoy the cars, the drive, etc. Wife and I have never felt out of place at any of the chapter events.
Jay I didn't want to lose a day of billable time. Savings goal has to be met for next 2 years so that I can stop working full time. Plus my brakes were not at a level where I can get the benefit of another track day lesson. I'll get them up to track spec in the next few weeks. I found it really got in the way of setting up the corners. I am however enjoying the technique in my Passat for daily driving when there is no traffic near the corner (I have video of the May 27 event. Once edited I will get you a copy so you can see/ear your car on track.) Gerrit
Welcome to T.O Brian! Maybe we could hook up for some pics of your 360 sometime. As for the Ferrari club, from the events that I have been to everyone seems to be really down to earth and not snobbish. There is a small group of guys that seem a little stuck up, but besides them I think everyone else is great. I met Jay and Robert through the FCA and they are 2 of the nicest guys I know.
To everyone: Thanks for the replies. Once I get past some work load here I promise to get in touch with everyone and make some arrangements to get together. This weekend is no good for me-Work issues- And to those who asked: Yea I am up with Larry Holt and the MTC guys. I am here under contract on a bunch of motorsports programs. Panoz, Ford, Audi, Lola, Newman Haas, etc. Attached is picture of car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
