I am not a Ferrari owner just an enthusiast. I have been fascinated with the mystique of Ferrari since I was a child, watching F1 with my father is a great memory for me. Credit must also be given to Magnum PI and Miami Vice, knowing such cars exist but never really ever getting close to one was very bothersome for me growing up. Some people get to be around machines such as these and maybe don’t even think twice about just how fortunate they are. Living in South Texas... well, muscle cars yes there are many... Ferrari not so much. I will say the first time I actually got to really see a Ferrari in motion was when I worked out in the San Antonio airport area (I was about 15 years old), this Ferrari 512TR (White) comes screaming down my street next to my shop.... :O
Well that did me in for sure, after that gentleman did it several more times throughout the week I managed to be on my lunch break earlier in the day to see if I could catch him, wave him down..... I did, and he stopped. I asked if I could please just take a quick look at it. I never knew his name but he told me all about his car and for that I thank you whoever you are.

Still to this day I do not see very many driving around, when I went to Las Vegas and stayed at the Wynn I had to check out the Ferrari Museum and loved it, even had my picture taken in the F430 they had there. I also attended for the first time a Formula 1 race at COTA.... that Ferrari red is even more beautiful flying past me than anything I had ever imagined.

(Funny story actually: When Ferrari of Austin came I was about two seconds away from dumping my at the time well paying job and try to apply and see if I could just sweep the floors and dump the trash just to get my foot in the door. I told my father about this and he looked at me and said "Son you are not qualified to do anything of a sort...I am sure you have to have a college education just to wash the cars.... go try the Chevy dealership down the street!"): Got to love honest fathers.

Welcome to Fchat. Great bunch of folks here. Can every now and then blast folks, but take it in stride, as there have been "intruders" here every now and then.

These cars are very different from every other marque. You are a testament to that from your description in your introduction.

I have owned a 348SS and now a 308QV and whatever cars you like or someday buy they are all special in thier own way.

Even if you are never blessed enought to own one, many of us would be happy to give you a ride or even let you drive one if you build on the relationships you have here - just don't push anyone to drive them, but I ask for rides in newer models all the time. I want Toggie to give me a ride in his 458 badly, but alas it hasn't happened...............yet :D.

Again, welcome and enjoy learning and seeing pictures and real events with the best cars on the planet.

P.S. Someone has to sweep the floors. That is how I got into the racing industry...pulling apart frozen chicken at 0400 at Dover and being a rent-a-cop at RIR...
