hello DES and beast, and thank you for your welcome! ;)

well, I actually own a very small car....

it's a 1989 Fiat Panda 750 CL....the slowest car on the streets now ....but very light too, and a bit funny.

    Here's some photos...

    http://tsr.altervista.org/soci/pat/foto4.jpg
    http://tsr.altervista.org/soci/pat/foto5.jpg

my parents gave me this car two years ago....one day, in the future, I'll finish to study and then I'll buy for me a better car....that day is not so far, I hope

Now I have just to enjoy this one, dreaming the others.

I simply go crazy for the sound of an Alfa GTA or a Ferrari engine; I really love the maseratis Coupé and 3200GT, the last (but not least) turbo maserati.

I have seen one year ago the Maserati Quattroporte MY 2004,I was studying in Fiat about car tests.......that's really a superb car, I think light years different from a BMW 7series or an audi A8....

    that V8 sound...that sports-classic design....wow....

nothing wrong with the car you drive. In fact i can honestly say that my current daily driver is no fire breather here either.

As long as you have a passion for Ferrari and treat everyone here with respect you will fit in great. I currently dont own a Ferrari, in the Future yes. But i have to get my studies out of the way and move to a better house first.

    thank you beast....

I'm just really sorry for my elementary english....I really know a lot about cars, expecially about italian cars....the point is to translate the things I know....not that easy :(

so if you have any question about Italian cars, just ask and (in case I know) I'll be seriously happy to reply ;)

Are there other italians on this forum?

Amo le automobili Italiane, anche. Infatti, sto andando oggi guardare l'esposizione dell'automobile a Los Angeles! Ogni anno qualcosa è venuto, in modo da non potrei andare, ma non questo volta.

    Hi Pat,

Do not worry about your english. It looks good from what I've seen and posting more here (and reading as well) will just help you to make it better. How many of us do you think can speak italian? :)

You should help us all with our Italian car pronunciation.

We came to the conclusion before that it was:

    Stradale -> stra - dah - luh

    Modena -> Mah - duh - nuh

but that it can vary a bit depending on the region... how am I doing? :)

    Welcome Pat!

I'm also an engineering student (mechanical). You are so lucky that your school offers automotive engineering. There is no such discipline offered in my neck of the woods - too bad. Best of luck with your studies. F-chat is an excellent place to learn about Ferraris!

    Hi ralessi ;)

I think you're right in everything.....but I should hear how you say these words....

It seems to me you're right anyway ;)

I know, it's really very difficult for an english-speaking person to pronunciate word in italian language....these languages are so different....

Now I will try to explain how to say that two italian words better, if I can, just to try.....tell me if you understand what I mean, it's not so easy for me ;)

    STRADALE:

-the "str" is easy, like your "str" in the word "stream" ;)
-the first "a" is something like yur "u" in the word "fun"
    -"d" is d.....:D ;)
-the second "a" is the same as the first
    -"L"...."L"
-the final "e" is not really your "e"...it's something like the first "a" in the word "language"

    MODENA

-"mo" sounds the same as "mo" in the word "motor"
    -d>>d
-"e" is the same as before, the last letter of "stradale"
-"na" is something like your "no" in the word "nothing"

I just hope I didn't do a too complicated thing....I would try to say to you the words, not to write....:(

but that's funny, if you can understand my stupid way to explain...

so, if anybody is going to come to Italy, I'll be happy to explain it by myself :)

thanks for your welcome to Gilles27, JohnT, yesod, mechanka, kds, thecarreaper, mhauler!!!

    >John T, Italian is funny bot not so useful in the world.......it's a difficult language for a stranger, maybe more than english for an italian...

but I really hope you will learn it, so you will enjoy much more your holidays here, if you wish to come ;)

have you ever been in Italy? where are your relatives from?

    >yesod, mechanka: well, I really like to study car engineering....(well, I should be studying now.....). It's very close to mechanical engineering, but with some big differences. We are very lucky and we study in Turin, near Fiat automotive industries...so we can see close what we are studying.

Well, I had to move from my city, Genoa (beautiful, on the sea...30 minutes from Portofino, who knows...;) ) to Turin (foggy and sad city....), but with a good reason ;)

    >kds: :D :D :D I've never had Parmalats...I just use to drink Parmalat milk....! :D These things are so usual in Italy... :(

    Hi Pat!
    Welcome to Ferrari chat!!
I'm not a big poster but am an avid reader or the never ending info on Ferraris that circulates in here.
I'm from Portugal, and last year I travelled all across Italy.
I went to Genoa and it was great. I live by the sea so I related immediatly to it. All the boats and the smell of the sea... Wonderfull!
I spent a week in Turin too. Didn't enjoy it has much, but from what i was told I was a bit fortunate as I caught sun everyday!
PortoFino.... wow!!! I loved it!!! Expensive as hell. But beatifull!!!
I actually went to Maranello to the factory and museam....
Expect to go agin this year if possible... Fell inlove with your country my friend!
On more thing, about your english... well, mine is far from perfect but these guys are just the nicest ones around and they'll get everything you say and help you with all you can't quite figure out! I've nothing but excelent things to say about Fchat! And I'm sure you'll to after spending some more time here.

    Welcome again.

Bien Venuto fratelo!! (Hope that's right! :)
