Helmet decals safe?

    I want to add a prancing horse decal to my helmet, but not sure if I need a special kind of decal to make sure the adhesive isn't corrosive or otherwise damaging to the helmet? Is there anything I should stay away from?

    Also, can anybody recommend a good store to order visors from?

    I have had a SF shield decal on my motorcycle helmet for the past two years (and 6000 miles) without a problem. I can not imagine any safety issues.

    I've had some kind of decal on every helmet I've owned. You'll probably have to replace your helmet before any adhesive will damage the shell.

    What's the make and model of your helmet?

    Thanks for the replies. It's a Bell Dominator, which is admittedly more helmet than I need right now since I'm only karting, but I do plan to use it for track day events next summer.

    It was a gift and it came with a pretty sweet paint job, so I can't complain!

    Hi,
    I do airbrush helmets and use decals all the time, for FIA drivers and other series, and I can assure you that a decal WON´T damage your helmet, no corrosion or any kind of damage. Your helmet should have a clear coat layer that protects it from any substances.
    It´s a shame, I just sold 3 Blue iridium visors that fitted your Dominator. I don´t know if I can post a link here, but PM me and I can give you the link of a good store in US, ships worldwide with nice service and competitive prices.
