Where is the best place to get a good price on Snell appr. helmuts?
I have seen drivers taping their front end with blue tape, is this just masking tape? thanks, John

I thought that looked funny, helmet is correct spelling. Seems as though it is race tape I am loooking for. I have heard two varying opinion about how hard the sticky backing residue is to remove. Anyone have any experience with this? thanks, John

The blue tape is just painters tape. Come's off real easy at the end of the track day, unlike Duct tape, which is very difficult to remove. You can get it at home depot.

I got a pretty cheap helmet online from Racer Wholesale (http://www.racerwholesale.com). It is a G-Force SA2000 helmet, cost was around $240, IIRC. Great for the occasional track use. They also carry high end helmets.

BTW, I try to put down a fresh layer of wax prior to putting on the tape. Also helps with removal.

I agree with Dom re. blue tape. It works pretty well, and comes off easily if you wax underneath it. See attached . . .
