My headlight motor has retired. Using the search function I determined relays to be the likely culprit and found a recommended source (Rockauto.com) Ordered their part< which turns out to be wrong (close but no cigar and pops the fuse). The part number coming off the car is bosch 0 332 204 101. I've been looking on line and can't find a source. Does anyone know of one?

What is the part number on the replacement relay that you received? Typically, it should either be a black plastic Bosch relay 0 332 209 151 or a purple Tyco relay like this:

www.importeccatalog.com should be able to supply (just type in the 0 332 204 101 number in the search box) -- athough any autoparts store should be able to match up a generic replacement, too, as long as it has the same 30, 85, 86, 87 and 87a terminals in the same places.

Does your replacement relay have 30, 85, 86, 87 and 87a terminals (which is correct) or 30, 85, 86, 87 and 87 terminals (which would be incorrect)?

Thanks Steve. My replacement was an orange plastic Bosch with 87a and 87 juxstaposed. I assume from your post that the alternate Bosch relay (i.e., slightly different numbering) than the original does have the same internal configuration.

Yes, the black plastic Bosch 0 332 209 151 would work OK for you, but, like the Bosch metal one, it is out of production. Tyco bought the Bosch relay business recently so the purple one is what you'll probably get from a vendor.

Are you sure the 87a and the 87 terminals are swapped ,or are there just two 87 terminals on the (bad) orange one? The orange Tyco is the replacement for the Bosch ...113 relay so sounds like you got the wrong one:
