$$40- 80 sounds better than $300. And you’re right. I might have to rebuild the used caliper anyway.

Definitely rebuild it, but if anything is scored or bad on your caliper contact me before buying one. I literally have dozens of these calipers for sale and will give you a good deal.

I may have spoke to soon as I keep thinking "355". That said, look at the back side of the caliper, it will have "Brembo" on the casting if so.

I just looked. Yep. It an ATE

Does anyone know where to get a rebuild kit/parts since it’s not a Brembo?

I tried everything to find ATE seals (including checking sizes of ATE seal kits that are separately available for other cars, BMW, Volvo etc.) for my 348 but got nowhere. So, I decided to replace all of my ATE calipers with Brembos - 2 used rear from a 355 (same as the 348's) and 2 new front. I keep a set of Zeckhausen seals for any future replacements.

Apparently I don't clean the backside of my calipers very well. ;)

Here's a blind shot of my '92 Canadian tb.

Yes, thanks. It was a sigh of relief when I saw this today.

For me, a rebuild isn't needed yet, and I'm collecting parts.

I am waiting for a reply back from ATE through their website, but I don't feel like that is going to happen. I'll keep going down that road (call their North American number Monday), but I'm thinking I just need to move on buy some used Brembo's rebuild them.

Brian, so my calipers are ATE's. With that said I'm going to need to buy used Brembos. So my question is can just using switching the rears to Brembos work for now then switch the fronts later or do I need change all of them out? That is probably a dumb question . And do you have a whole set if I do need all 4.

    Thanks,
    Vince

In the 348 there was ate/teves and brembo calipers. They were exactly the same as far as I know. There was no advantage with either caliper for racing. Later there was a bigger caliper brembo that made its way into the 348 challenge cars and some 348 racecars but never legal in the 348 challenge series. I thought the oem 348 calipers was ferrari spec so the seals should be interchangeable. But I could be wrong. I have never bothered to inspect those 2 calipers side by side. Later there was a brembo big brake kit for the 355 challenge car. I thought the stock 355's also used the same calipers as the 348 but those were all brembo. I could be wrong on that too.

Has anyone tried calling Girodisc? There are way more 348/355's out there than 550 maranellos and Girodisc has the seals for the maranellos. I would not be surprised if they have the 348 ones too.

I have an ATE kit 11.0441-5701.2 which is for Volvo 940 front calipers. The "57" in the part number means 57 mm diameter so the p/n that you showed is also 57 mm ("5702.2"), nowhere near the sizes for the 348 calipers - 36 and 40 mm. I do not know what the numbers in the ATE p/n-s that I have coloured blue mean but the first two digits after the dash always mean diameter.

I just stopped by Ferrari of Tampa while down here visiting family. The parts manager said to send him the vin # of my car and he’d find me the correct caliper rebuild kit as well as the correct CV boots.

I just got a quote of $178 per caliper to rebuild from Gold Line Brake’s online. I explained they were ATP’s. So that tells me there’s parts out there somewhere - just have to find them.
