Can anyone help, I am trying to find out the cost and part number for the main oil pipe on a 1991 348, the pipe that runs from the tank with the dip stick and is obviously braided. These's seem to be in short supply as I have waited nearly 5 months for the service to be completed on my car becuase of this.

I would expect this to be expensive - circa £750.

Mine was leaking slightly at the connections when it had the 18K + belts done and i had the choice on new ones or use best endeavours.

My mechanic re-connected the pipes with sealant and all has been well since.

He also advised that if new ones were needed it was better to go to a hydraulic pipe manufacturer as they would be considerably cheaper.

Obtaining the unions would be the delay - but weeks not months.

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

Main oil pipe is £800 from Ferrari.

Try Phil at QV at Ascot, 01344 622011, he had a second hand one hanging up in the stores yesterday.

Any good hose supplier can cut and splice. In europe the fittings are all over the place ie metric. In the usa you have to do all knids of gyrations like buy from europe or hunt like hell or give up and cut the nipple off the oil tank and tig weld on a correct American AN bung then splice the hose to AN. No big deal just do what is quick and easy. 750lbs! are you kidding FNA's price on that should be illegal.
