    Yes Ernie,

I have checked the fuel pressure regulators using a method I read in www.my348.com, just after shutting off the engine trying to start it again in 2 seconds. If it starts it could be a pressure issue because there is no time enough for the pressure to be relieved, but my car doesn't start until it's cold (after several attempts)

Anyway, your directions are much better, and I will do it your way.

This week I will not have time enough to do the checks, because my sister has just arrived from London to spend a few days. I will tell you the resutls as soon as the checks have been made.

    Thank you very much.

I don't know how the ignition/fuel relays work on these cars, but some GM vehicles have to have a pulse input as the engine rotates before it will engage the fuel/ignition relays. This is in case you wreck if the engine is not rotating it will shut off the fuel. As a back-up for that system the computer will energize those relays when the oil pressure reaches a certain value. I had a car that had that problem, would not start until you cranked it a few seconds, then all was well. As I stated before I have no idea if these cars have the same type of system, if they do you can check the ignition system (spark) and fuel injector operation while cranking the car. I'm sure someone on here knows how these systems work and whether or not this could be a cause.

    Very good picture!

There is no doubt, now I cannot get wrong. Although it may seem a little funny, but I don't remember seeing this before (a bad ferrari chatter example)

If my 348 wasn't a few km from me at this moment, I would go to check it right now... I'll do it as soon as possible.

    Thank you very much!

    You are right Dave,

this car has 2 crank sensors that send a pluse for the ecu to know that the engine is rotating. If those sensors go bad, or the crank rotates under 30 rpm, the fuel pump will not start.

After a few days thinking about this problem, I thought the the same as you have suggested. So I changed the 2 crank sensors without success.

    Thank you.

did you check the vacuum lines on the fuel regulators? see if there is raw fuel in the lines
after you try and start it or especially after it has been running.

also try pushing the clutch pedal down and trying to start the car. I repacked the grease
in my flywheel for my 348 but just because it was chattering on shutdown. it had nothing to
do with my start up issues.
you are having problems starting cold or hot engine, my starting issue was hot only, and it was the pressure regulators.

the first thing I'd do is check fuel pressure on cranking the engine and spark to one of the plugs.

    FIXED PROBLEM!!!

I am really happy to tell you all that my 348 is now starting as usual, with the first crank. Yesterday I found and fixed the cause.

I would first like to thank everyone for your help and advices, before you start laughing, because it's a mix between a nightmare and a comedy...

Last tuesday I found some spare time after two weeks very busy, and tested things you suggested. And yesterday the car suddenly got worse and did many strange things when trying to start (no electrical power, starter motor clicking...), so I remembered what fatbillybob said about fressen all the grounds. I had done it before, but there was a part that I should have inspected better; THE AFTERMARKET BATTERY DISCONNECTOR SWITCH.

This stupid thing has less than 6 months, is clean, tightened, and apparently working fine, but I discovered that the hexgonal head of the screw that touches for contact when connected, only touches the other part with a small area of the tips of the hexagon (you can see on the picture the clearer area) because have worn due the use. So it was like trying to start the car with a very small section cable. And our machines need a big power for the starter motor, the fuel pumps and the 8 sparkplugs when starting.

The solution is as simple as cheap, a good washer for making the area bigger, and now everything is like a symphony.

    Stop laughing please...
