Hi Guys , I need some help if any one knows what the problem could be. Ive just taken the car out for a spin for the first time this year. It was all good the first 30min, when i hit the Pedal and changed gears in high RPM from 1 to 2 , no problem there, but when i tried to go 3rd it wouldnt let me go out of gear. it was stuck in 2 . i Got it in Neutral but then it wouldnt let me go 3rd, actually its the same problem on all gears, Even though i push the clutch pedal it feels like it wount separate the engine with the gearbox, The funny thing is that if i drive under 1500 RPM then i have no problem changing gear, over that it grinds and wont let me change. Im soon going to take it appart but if some one experienced something like this then let me know. Sorry my bag English .. Greetings from Germany / Denmark
I am not a mechanic but it could be the shifter bushing. They are known to fail and I presume that under higher RPMs the torque would move the broken bushing pieces farther apart and cause harder shifting. Hill Engineering makes an upgraded bushing if that is your problem. Good luck with the fix. https://www.ricambiamerica.com/174967-manual-gear-lever-bushing.html
These cars need to be driven.... Not sure how long your cars has been sitting unused. Best to start with the basics. How many miles/k on the odometer, clutch could be on it's last legs? Last gearbox fluid change and filters cleaned? Correct fluid for your location/temperature? Clutch hydraulics checked and working properly? If you don't know the above conditions or are unable to work on your car (maybe you were looking for a quick simple fix). Best to take your car to a qualified shop to sort this out ($$$$). I have a bit over 40k miles on my 2001 360 and the original clutch. And yes, I installed the Hill Engineering shiftier bushing. Good Luck to you and your 360!!!!
Normally when you press the clutch pedal, pressurized brake fluid goes to the clutch assembly and pushes the throwout bearing forward, which disengages the clutch. Similarly, the gearshift mechanism in the car, could not be "aligning properly" and be preventing you from shifting gears. That it grinds suggests that the pressure is not being sufficient to fully disengage the clutch. I predict you either have a clutch pump/master cylinder or your throwout bearing seals are leaky. In either case pressure cannot build up sufficiently and you get the grinding. Any fluid under the car by any chance?
THE clutch has never been changed as far as i know. it has done around 50 000km. thats i guess around 35000 miles ?? MY CAR SITS IN A WARM GARAGE 6MONTHS IN THE WINTER TIME. OTHERWISE I DO DRIVE IT . THE CAR HAS DONE 50000KM. CLUTCH SEEMS TO WORK WELL. ILL UPLOAD A VIDEO BUT IM NOT SURE THAT IT DOES PUSH ENOUGH ( DISENGAGE ENOUGH) I WILL UPLOAD THE VIDEO SO YOU CAN SEE. I DO ALL THE WORK MY SELF ON MY CARS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncuOuEUa1-E WHAT DO YOU THINK? LOOKS LIKE THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER AND SLAVE WORKS WELL. NO THERE IS NO LEAK IN THE REAR. ILL HAVE A LOOK AT THE MASTER CYLINDER TOMORROW
Hi Guys. PROBLEM SOLVED It was the clutch plate that cracked, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRD4aHUn0jg
Does any one know what this part is for? https://www.ricambiamerica.com/95973048-360-gear-box-wrench.html is it to remove the flange and throw out bearing ? i men the bearing i removed by puling it out and the flange is easy to get off afterwords.. or did i miss something?
bad clutch release bearing (leaking) or master clutch cilinder at the clutch pedal. try to see if you can see any oil drips at the top of your clutch pedal.
I see the problem has already been posted. the replies to the Topic start didn't pop up when I posted.
Thanks. but i still dont see why? Look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gw7FFY14BDw I could easily get it off without the tool. Or is that in case you need to re use the bearing, so that it doesnt separate / get damaged by removal ? ?
