Posting on behalf of a 24-year old friend who is working in the Orlando area, but whose extremely used Audi died. He isn’t terribly knowledgeable when it comes to cars, and of course the Audi failed expensively.

He needs a car for the basics — commute to work, etc. I doubt he can spend more than $4k-$5k so probably a compact Toyota or similar.

I’ve advised him also to find a good independent mechanic who can give him honest advice and maybe help him source a car.

Any leads to help Daniel connect with a decent car and honest mechanic would be greatly appreciated. He works in Orlando. I know no one there…

My advice would be to buy the nicest Japanese car that he can afford.

Agree. If anyone has a specific car or tech in mind, please let me know. Thanks!

Honda Accord or Civic. Ideally less than 150k miles, if possible.

A Toyota Yaris might work too, depending on how big he is or how much stuff he needs to carry.
