It took me over an hour to get through this entire thread. I am quite humbled. My best to you Alexander. Hope you're doing well.
Dear Friends, I received an email today from Susie McCormack indicating Alexander is doing fine and that another road trip for him was scheduled this month. They are departing home on January 7th and headed our way with following schedule: Jan 11-12 La Vegas, 13th Sedona, 14-19th Phoenix, 19-20th Los Angeles, 21-22nd Santa Cruz, 23rd San Fransisco and 24-25th coast to home. As you all may recall, Alexander's special request to hear a Ferrari engine touched many of us in many different ways. We pulled together in various States with exotics and other sports cars to give back something very special to Alexander that I can't describe in words. The beautiful pictures on this thread truly are a reminder of our love, care and support for this young man and his family. Susie mentioned to me that Alexander's last experience with us all was truly amazing and something he was not expecting and still talks about that trip today. Please join us to gather up few cars and grab lunch with Alexander on the 19th. More details of the gathering to follow as we get closer to the date. Thank you for your support in advance. Haig List us prepare the list of who can attend this gathering. 1. Haig/Silver Testarossa 2. 3. 4.
If it's on the 19th, I should be good. Had a blast last time. 1. Haig/Silver Testarossa 2. Way2fast F430 3. Modenafan/430 Scuderia 4.
Hi Everyone, We are getting closer to the weekend and I only see three cars on the list. Lets make an effort to welcome Alexander. See what took place in Vegas from an email sent to me by Susie. Sunday, we met with Bob Lebenson and the Las Vegas Ferrari members at BJ's Brewhouse for brunch and the football game! Yeah 49 ers !!! Upon our arrival we saw a big truck with the Lion Habitat parked among the beautiful Ferraris. It was Keith and Beverly Evans with "Lucky"! He was the baby Lion Alexander got to hold on our first road trip in 2010 ! He is now a beautiful "big" lion! Thank you so much to Keith and Beverly for this Alexander was so see Lucky! We then followed Bob and Friends to the ghost town of Nelson est. 186 and down to the look out over the Colorado River! It was really fun. It was a great day! Thank you Bob and friends for this memorable day!
I will be speaking with Susie tomorrow. It will be on this coming Sunday early afternoon. I was thinking maybe a late lunch but open to any ideas.
Hi guys, Here is what Susie wrote: So far - we are going to be at the Best Western on Riverside Dr. in Burbank. At this point we are allowing extra time for Alexander and the drive. We may not be there until 3 o'clock ( worst case scenario ). If you like I can contact you when we arrive? Alexander is wondering about maybe watching the football game someplace? It is not crucial, and not sure if you guys would be interested.? I told him I would mention it as an idea. Any ideas??? Who will be attending??? Haig
The only place I can think of that has room for the cars and also have the game on is BJs on First St. In Burbank. They normally have a valet out so we'd have to coordinate with the manager to get those spots roped off.
Thank you Kevin. This will be great spot. Those who can attend this gathering on Sunday around 3:00 PM please sign in your name/car below. 1. Haig/Testarossa 2. Sam/430 3 pedal 3. Jon/ Scudd 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
I just confirmed with Susie that we will gather up at BJ's Burbank as Kevin recommended. They will arrive around 3:00 so we should be just in time for the 2nd game.
We've got roped off parking at BJs. I've got us down for 4 cars and a party of 20. They'll accommodate us if more cars show up.
Thank you Kevin for coordinating BJ's meet. We arrived as planned and valet had the red cones out saving our spots as promised. A table for 20 was set waiting for our champion to pull up. It was an exciting moment for all of us when we saw the van turning into the parking lot. Alexander was grinning as he rolled up his wheels checking out the cars. We had 5 Ferraris and he was happy to have just seen one. He made his round looking at each and everyone and parked for group pictures. Shortly after, we were welcomed by the restaurant manager and staff. They had table for 20 ready and surrounded with TVs so Alexander was able to watch football as he wished. Service at BJ's was over the top. Food was great and parking was perfect and as if that was not enough, Manager, Matt Johns, truly appreciated our intentions and was touched. When the bill arrived, he walked up to me and said " this is a great cause that you all support and we do the same here". He then offered 50% discount on behalf of BJ's. We were all grateful for this short gathering to be with Alexander and his family and friends. A big thank you for everyone for the support and love you showed for Alexander today. It was great to see Alexander & his family again. It looked like he was having a good time, & that's really the main point of all of this, so I think today was a great success. I also enjoyed seeing everyone else there, it was nice to catch up on all the latest goings on. A big thanks to everyone who was involved in putting this together, and especially to Haig & the manager of BJ's for their outstanding generosity. Bravo!
Thank you to Haig for making this happen. It's been wonderful staying in touch with Alexander and his family. Thank you Kevin for taking care of the restaurant and parking. It was great catching up with friends and making new ones. The people at BJ's were wonderful and couldn't have been more generous. I look forward to our next meeting.
Darn wish I knew about this. Was just going through some old pics from the first trip. Glad Alex is doing well As many of you heard my good friend Paul passed away back in November. I'm very glad that Alex and his family got to meet him. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/t1/27966_628115404836_698060_n.jpg
I am sorry I missed it. I ended up going home on Sat. night from LA. I did not have my F car anyway. I am glad Alexander is doing so well
