I was driving the car today and the battery light came on. I pulled into work and noticed that the heavy gauge wire has come loose from the alternator. It looks like the nut spun off. Do you know what size? Maybe I can find one at a local auto-parts store.
    Thank you!

If you mean the power output cable from the alternator, it will probably be a metric course. Common sizes

I’m fairly sure it’s gonna be metric. Buy a handful of different sizes, they’re only a few penny’s each. Try to get a stop nut that fits so it won’t come off again.

Generally standard metric nuts are metric coarse, there is also a metric fine but not common

Thanks guys! On closer inspection it was a failed crimp! I took the chance and drove the car home on battery and it made it! 12 miles....
