Bought a set of aftermarket Fender Shields from Ebay. They look really good! Need install advice please. I am concerned they will sit too high and look odd. Any tips how to get them as flat and close to the fender as possible?

The bend seems to be a little off. Advice how to bend them?

I have seen aftermarket shields on Ebay and thought they looked rather good. I just read the link you mention. I guess the question is how to bend them and what type of tape to use. My concern would be they might stick up too high with the tape.
Will be interesting to see others chime in with their experience in mounting these. I hope other members jump in here and help!

For adhesive tape use the 3M 4905 20 mil clear in 1 in strips.
It is expensive to buy a roll but I found mine on EBay for about $10 bucks.
You will need about 60 inches long by 1 inch wide to do 2 shields.

I'm not sure about the eBay shields but the Yoshis I bought for my former 355 had 3M VHB clear tape. The curve on the Yoshis were a tad bit too much for the fenders so I just gently bent them outward with my fingers to prefit them until the curve was perfect.

And yes, if the tape that came with the eBay shields are thick, I would go with the 3M 4905 which is 20 mils (.020") or 0.5 millimeter thick.

My aftermarket shields came with thick double sided tape. I will be using the thinner 3M trim tape when it comes time to install them.

I'd recommend whatever Yoshi used to use when he was making these.....I bought them for my 360 3 1/2 years ago and they are perfect. A shame he's not making them anymore...the fit/finish and curve was perfect for my 360, as confirmed by a lot of time I spent parked next to the same exact car at a cars & coffee event last year that had factory shields...I parked so our fenders were even and stood between them and it's amazing how close they are to factory.

The tape he used if what yron/slow poke recommend gives the just the right lift and secures them very nicely. If you ever want to remove, I think a hair driver with some lifting pressure from your gloved/covered finger (a hair drier gets metal hot to the touch pretty quickly) would lift them without paint damage, or some have used dental floss, although I don't know why someone would want to remove a really good shield (vs the cheap stickers). Best $325 or so I spent on the car!

60" of tape for two shields??? How do you use the tape? Apply tape to the entire back of the shield and then a razor blade to trim the edges???

Just bend them by hand, they're normally quite close and just need a little persuasion, if not close you might try a panel beater who might have the right tools to roll them for you. Tape? Just apply to back side of the shield and then trim it back with a sharp knife. The fixing tape is clear so while it is evident if you look for it, it more or less disappears into the paint.
