First, I've read every post I could find. Bought the B.Tender Plus... Can't figure out where to ground the pigtail! It is possible that the battery has less than 3V....all I get from the tender is blinking red!

Tried pass. footwell and behind driver's seat (but still not exactly sure where to ground...)

Can anyone provide DETAILED instructions for this ??? Especially exact location for perm. pigtail installtion....

My piglet was installed behind drivers seat, right around the engine wall. I think if it's blinking red it has less than 3v. I had the same problem a couple of months ago, because I left my door open for a week by mistake. Lucky for me the previous owner had purchased the Ferrari battery charger which I hooked up through the trunk. I don't know if the tender alone will bring the battery back or not. I tried it for a few hours, but as soon as I put my key in and tried to start the car, it all went dead.

You might want to pm Rifledriver. He knows everything.

I removed the passenger side footwell firewall panel and connected the tender wires directly to the battery and left a tail protruding into the footwell after I replaced the panel. It works very well

Did you have to remove the battery? I tried to remove my battery, but couldn't loosen the phillip head screws. That's when I went to the charger which worked great.

    Find any good grounding point.

If your battery is very low, it can take 4-5 days for the tender to charge it.

The blinking red light might indicate the battery voltage is very, very low.

Just leave the tender connected for a while and the red blinking should stop.

Then as the battery is nearing its charge, the green light will blink and the red light will stay on.

It took nearly 4 days for my CL500 battery to fully charge the 1st time I put the tender on it. I don't drive it very much.

    Be patient. It should charge.

I didn't think you were supposed to connect the negative on the battery to the black end of the pigtail!!!??? Can someone confirm?

I thought the red blinking light meant there would be no charge coming from the Batt. Tender....

Also, what is a good grounding point?

you can do a direct connect. look in the tender instructions, it is fine to do. i actually remove my battery and direct connect and leave tender and battery on a table in garage for 4 months works fine and i remove battery because i am not around car to inspect frequently. if ya remove battery just take your time it is easy but heavy.

    I did the same.

BTW, I don't think a small battery tender will do the trick to recharge a fully dead battery. If it's that dead, take it out of the car, then charge it or replace it.

Why can't you get the screws out.
PM me if you need to borrow a tool.

I couldn't get the tender to start charging but couldn't tell if I had it installed incorrectly or if the battery was just totally flat.

Since I couldn't find a good grounding point, I took the chance and just connected to the negative post of the battery.

I hooked up a jump pak to the battery and that got the battery going just enough to get the tender going (solid red instead of blinking red light). It took a full day and a half to bring it back up but it worked great.

I then connected the pigtail to both the positive and negative terminals of the battery. Though the instructions that came with the tender says not to connect the negative, I did it anyway and had no problems.

    All is good.

You did the right thing, and you approached it well.

Keep using that tender daily, and you'll never have a problem.

My CL500 obviously has more daily electrical draw than does my 360. It takes considerably longer to charge.

So, keep it on and you'll have no problems.
