We live in Wayne NJ. My brother used to own a 2002 M3, but has sold it and is now looking for something different. He went to Porsche and has his eye on a Red GT3 with Tubi exhaust that is at Paul Miller Porsche on Rt.46. He also looked at a Porsche 997 CS while he was there, but is not sure if he likes it yet. Other cars he is interested in are 06 Z06, BMW 645I vert, Porsche Turbo, and GT2.

Does anyone in the NY tri-state area know where good prices on any of those cars can be found, New or slightly used? Also, what are your opinions on the cars he is looking at? I am just trying to help him out so he makes a smart decision. This would be a weekend car, and not a daily driver.

    All opinions welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kyle

I would go GT2. I haven't personally driven any of them but from the ones you named that one seems the most appealling. That and that guy in the gumball video with the brit flag on his car sold me :)

no ferraris being considered? your friend could get a loaded 355 or an early euro 360

i would go w/ a preowned 996TT. seems several MY 01/02 examples with not a whole lot of miles are going for $70-80k. that's pretty darn good bang for the buck.

gt3, go gt3 but i still say drive the cars first.

Read road tests like car and driver online and such. But gt3 is the best car i beleive out of those options.

    i live in wayne also...

the cars you mentioned are very different...i'm biased towards the porsche turbo...it is a great car, fast, reliable, and for that price range would be my optimal choice...
from z06 to gt2 is quite a big gap in pricing...so i assume it is not an issue...
i would stay with paul miller on 46, and swing by globe mercdes around there as well...

The yellow one might belong to one of the Post twins. I've seen it around the Clifton/Lodi/Totowa area and I know they live in wayne.

You may want him to look at the CTS-V (god I love this car) but his choices suggest a two door only rule. The 645 is ok but the m6 comes out soon, this car will pale then. I really liked the new boxster and the hardtop version is pretty sexy, then there's the sp ed 550 spyder Boxster which came out some months ago of the old car. The new boxster is a totally different type of porsche imo, the interior no longer feels like a corolla. The ACR viper (last gen) was also a pretty fun car. If he's not looking for a trophy car put him in a 911 turbo or Supra, the gt model 911's are too harsh for some.
