I would appreciate any help which could be offered.

Out of the blue - my car F355 GTS 97 (5.2) has refused to start.

    Symptoms:

    1. CEL at start
    2. At ignition I can hear the Air Pump but it does not even try to turn the engine over.
    3. No error codes on OBD

I have confirmed battery condition and additionally used jumps leads(Just in case) so I'm confident that its not a flat battery.

    Thanks in advance.

Just to close this thread off.

It turned out to be the transmission propeller shaft. Changed it in summer 08 and have been A OK since. Found some great resources for the work here.

note: The 3 oil seals were an absolute pain to get back on for anyone who needs to do this.

    5 years later?

The transmission propeller shaft? You said the car wouldn't turn over?

As far as I recall (and its is 5 years, as has been noted) the propeller shaft runs through centre of flywheel. The starter can turn the flywheel but it does not do its job of turning the engine to start it up.

Hence there was a bit of digging around to determine problem, as it initially seemed more related to starting.

    Ciao
