If the cats are bad there should be an 8 year/80K mile federal emissions warranty.

If you are out of that period, I would give Alex Traverso a call and do some aftermarket cats. Fabspeed, Tubi, Capristo make some set ups.

..... Or you can bend over and grab your ankles at Scottsdale Ferrari! I think they may be having a colonoscopy special this week!:D

    Jason,

Having worried about this last month with my 99... try ebay.. there are always a couple floating around for around a thousand, if you want OEM.

For aftermarket.. consider test pipes if you're in a non-emissions state.. I think about 500-600 for fab speed.. aftermarket cats run maybe 1600 or so if I recall on the Vividracing site..

    Cheers, Curt

Take the car to a reputable independant to confirm that it even needs cats first....

If I understand the configuration correctly, the CEL can indicate a bad PRE-cat (which is functionally the main cat) in an '01. There are no sensors for the second cat that everyone is suggesting the OP replace with aftermarket.

I have a right manifold from my 2004 360 with about 7000 miles on it. If you are interested the price is $1,000.

I still say unless your friend is a ferrari expert to go to a good independant....while I don't know specifics, sometimes the codes read one thing and it's something else. My car had a code some people said could be the cats, but my mechanic went through the car and tightened a couple of fuel injection wires/spark wires and cleaned some contacts, and also narrowed down one bad mass airflow sensor. Your cats may be fine- they are expensive enough to get a second opinion or inspection by a mechanic like mine that may reveal something else throwing the code which could be a much much cheaper fix.

Got the car back from the dealer. For now, the code has been cleared and has not reaccurred. My plan, for now, is to do nothing. We shall see what the cars next move is.

    Thanks again!!!
