Hi there. Have you cleaned out the Idle Control Valves? Located forward of the MAFs. I was having idle problems, hit 4000 rpm once on idle. Cleaned out the ICVs with MAF cleaner and it sorted it.

You look like you know what you're doing but just in case, it's part number 13 on this diagram.

Edit: turns out I didn't know what I was doing. Is attached now (hopefully)

Hope you get the idle sorted soon. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    PS:
Also, your wheels are on backwards.

I wouldn't be surprised if your left and right throttle butterflies are way out of synch, especially if someone has been messing with the balancing screw on the linkage, in a misguided attempt to adjust the idle speed that way. If you have a shop manual, look at figure 55 on page C87. In general terms, the linkage for each butterfly should be against its stop screw (#2) when the throttle is at idle. Once screw #4 is set so that the butterflies are in synch, it shouldn't ever need to be adjusted again.

Good luck getting it right ASAP!

You fixed it yourself / for free / with just a screwdriver? That's what I like to hear!

If the throttles are set up even close to correctly, the Motronics should take care of the idle speed. There isn't an actual "idle speed screw" anywhere on the linkage.

Good thing you changed those wheels, or someone would have complained that your stock wheels were mounted on the wrong sides of the car...

Is that a subtle way of declaring that you're, on occasion, indelicately mirthful? :)

You're starting to use long words now, which is just unfair! But yes, can't help it sometimes :)
